Very clean, plush and spacious hotel. Only downside was having to eat in pub next door due to Covid restrictions meaning demand for tables was high . Food however was good , breakfast excellent . Golf at Machrihanish dunes was great .

We regularly do hotel winter breaks and this one was the best value by miles. We opted for Culinary Escape - 2 nights. The hotel entrance is GRAND but cosy. We chose a superior room which was above our expectations, sumptuous bedding, beautiful views from room, super clean and comfortable. The Clubhouse bar next door is great for a casual drink, again with a warm welcome and seemed popular for food. Ate both nights in the Kintyre Restaurant and the menu was fantastic, creative and a delight. Well done the Chef! Staff at the hotel are friendly and helpful too. Partner played golf at the Dunes where Peter gave us a warm welcome, helped us with the course layout and pointed us in the direction of great sightseeing (and a fantastic cafe in Southend) in the local area. A big thumbs up. We will return - thank you!

Previously stayed in the hotel but this time we were in a cottage which was extremely cosy and comfortable with excellent bathrooms. Having a lounge to relax and discuss the days golf was a welcome change to a normal hotel room and would recommend if there are 4 of you on a trip. The hotel is very welcoming and with two eating options with the main hotel and pub there is ample choice to keep you going on and extended stay. The food in both was very good and you certainly won’t go hungry if you order the meat lovers pizza in the pub...mammoth! Great place to stay whether you are there for golf or not and even better if you get a room with a view over Machrihanish beach. Simply stunning.

This is the only hotel in Machrihanish from what I can tell. There are several B&Bs that are also across the street from the pro shop and first tee. Fortunately, the recent refurbishment of the hotel is very well done. Dinner at the restaurant was also very good.

This would have been my third visit to the hotel and it certainly does not disappoint. From the moment you enter for check in you feel the warmth given from the reception staff. The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable. The bathrooms equally match the rooms. I had room 14 which faces the sea with views to Macrihanish Golf course immediately opposite the hotel. They have wonderful packages for stay and play at their fabulous Golf Course Macrihanish Dunes . The course is 10 years old now and has matured to be one of the best links courses I have played. A great welcome from Lorna who has been there quite a while who also prepares the soup and sandwiches which are delicious. Breakfasts are a delight with a full menu to choose from. Another wonderful surprise was the addition of Chef Gordon O’neill who has joined the hotel from the Michelin star restaurant the Boathouse in Gigha where he was chef. What a great menu. We ate in the restaurant both nights and the food was fantastic. The staff in the restaurant we very helpful adding to the evening experience. The President of the company was at the hotel while we were there and it was great to see his hands on approach and mingling with the guests. A nice touch. If you arrive at the hotel without transport they have a complimentary shuttle to the Dunes Golf course and to nearby Campbeltown and Airport. Wonderful sights near the Mull of Kintyre and a great getaway for great golf or just to unwind. Special mention for Jo at reception who was very helpful

Thank you for sharing your thoughtful review, Tony. Mingling with the guests is the highlight of my visits to The Village, and I'm so glad you joined us for another stay. You're quite right that the course has matured beautifully and we're incredibly proud to be celebrating its 10-year anniversary this year. I'm thrilled you enjoyed your visit to The Kintyre Restaurant + Bar. Chef Gordon's new menus are fantastic and he continues to deliver creativity in every dish. We are so excited to have him on the team and appreciate the warm welcome he's received from our guests and patrons. Thank you again for your kind words, and we hope to welcome you again soon! Sincerely, Greg Sherwood
