This hotel was such a disappointment. I live locally and work at the biggest studio in Burbank. I've always recommended this hotel for clients, family and friends based off the cute exterior and website but that will never happen again. I was in need of a hotel for one night and was excited to have a reason to stay here. I’ve always considered this a semi-luxury hotel. I wasn't expecting the Four Seasons but at least have the service match the price. I booked my room last minute on a Sunday at 3:30 PM checking in on the same day. I was feeling ill and told the front desk that I desperately needed a bathtub. She informed me that the only bathtubs that were available was a $200 upgrade in addition to the $50 I had just paid to get a room that was renovated. She had zero interest or compassion for the fact I was obviously very sick. Even if she didn’t want to give me an upgrade, she could have at least been friendly. I paid the upgrade to stay in a “renovated room.” Why is it more to stay in a renovated room? Isn't that the point of renovating? I paid the $50 because of course I want a renovated room! I stay at resorts quite often on staycations in SoCal at Omni La Costa, Monarch, La Quinta & Omni in Palm Springs and usually book through a third party so I know what to expect from luxury hotels in SoCal. They always give some some of upgrade or perk and never treat me differently because I booked through a third party. Most hotels understand that if it weren't for third party websites, they would not get as much exposure and business. This hotel is very snobby and offers nothing when you book through a third party website. I went ahead and paid for the upgrade for a filthy, gross, old room. What a joke! It was 4 PM and there were other rooms available - you should really work on your customer service. This is how you make customers. The below is how you lose them. If you stay on the side of Pass Ave, expect to hear traffic all night. Even though Pass is not busy, you hear every single thing in your room. The windows are filthy dirty, there are holes in the curtains, stains on the pillows, a TON of dirt on the door handle (pics attached) no coffee stocked or sweetener (had to call 2x after waiting 40 minutes to get some after my first call at 7 am). I had asked to bring some sweetener other than sugar, when they finally came, all he had was a handful of sugar. The shower is beautiful but the water pressure sucks BIG TIME, bed is awful but pillows ok. The bathroom was not stocked with anything. No bath mat. There are so many little things they could do in the bathroom but it is bare bones. I requested toothpaste 3x starting with the night before.. what is with their customer service? No wine glasses but they have wine in the mini-fridge. The cheap corkscrew made me spill red wine all over my clothes. That may be my fault but that thing is a POS and it is difficult to use. There is a microwave but no plates or silverware. I had to go downstairs to get some. They have cupboards over the sink and microwave - all empty. No lining in ice bucket and no shower cap. One of the lights doesn't work. When you call for housekeeping, you get a voicemail. They do not have any medicine on site. Most hotels keep a stash as an emergency for their guests. No ibuprofen and no movie channel! This is not a boutique, luxury hotel but a cheap hotel that charges luxury prices. Some of these are little things, I understand; but combined it's enough for me to never stay or refer anyone here again. It is a cute hotel but their lack of customer service and attention to detail matched with their price makes it not completely not worth it. It's fine to be a snob but you have to deliver. I will NEVER refer anyone here ever again! I wish I had taken more pics but you get the idea...…
I had a wonderful experience here a few months ago so I decided to come back. Not this time. Hotel is under construction and the front desk staff seems overwhelmed and is taking it out on customers. I got a terribly dark 2nd Floor room. Requested to move and was shown another room with even less light. Was told that was all available to me because of my room “type”. It was 3pm and I offered to wait until other rooms were cleaned and available. I was told all other rooms were under construction. The tone and attitude was unfriendly and disingenuous. I will not return. The images were taken at 3pm on a beautiful sunny and bright day... so much for traveling 3000 miles to sunny Southern California.
It is a cute little place and fun bar! They had really nice staff. It is a great location. It is very close to universal studios. Parking was also easily accessible. Glad I found this hotel and would return in the future.
This place is amazing. 10 minutes away from Universal Studios! If you are planning to spend the weekend at LA and want to visit Universal, stay here. They have great drinks and the people that work here are fantastic.
The hotel is undergoing some renovation but it’s not an issue. It’s very clean, accomadating and staff is very nice. I arrived earlier than check in time and they did all they could to get me and my daughter in a room. The pool and jacuzzi area is small but not crowded. I haven’t tried their food and drinks yet but i will review that after I try. Lol. I will definitely be back.
