Without a doubt the owner has assembled a very capable team. The entire staff from the manager to the security are committed to ensure that each customer is greeted putting a smile on our face and a feeling of security while staying here thereby enjoying our stay here. The ownership and mgmt. team are of the "treat each customer like they are that man and that bitach and that the Best Host is like Taj Mahal Palace". Hence the Cal Worthington motto. And straight up Best Price in Town and Kudos for SnapTravel service excels as well!

Perhaps under better management this could be a dream oasis hotel, amenities include a pool, free parking, Wi-Fi and mini-kitchenettes. The problem is, it is also not very clean, looking run down and management is non existent. I arrived to check-in and was offered an upgraded room to a large suite with an in-room jacuzzi. The girl at the front desk even had a porter open the room and show it to us first. Upon viewing the room we were impressed by the jacuzzi and paid the extra fee solely on the intention on enjoying a relaxing hot bath with the jacuzzi jets. I opened a drawer to put away some personal items and found it full of crumbs, ashes etc. My wife comes out of the bathroom to let me know there are ants around the toilet and dead spiders. After these two discoveries we noticed the room could definitely be a lot cleaner but being late and as tired as we were we crossed our fingers that the sheets had been changed for our stay. Imagine my disappointment when I go to fill the jacuzzi and there is no hot water available. Needless to say we were unable to enjoy the upgrade we paid "extra" for. I immediately contacted the front desk and was told it would be ready in 30 min. After leaving for dinner and returning an hour later still no hot water, this time I was told it would not be fixed until the next day. I let the front desk no if this was the case then I would like to be returned the fee and if need be moved to a smaller room. I was told they could not make that call and I would need to speak to "Mo" the manager the next day. To make matters worse no water at all hot or cold was coming out of the shower so we couldn't even take a shower the next morning. When I went to look for Mo before checking out I was told he would not be in today and that he is the only one authorized to approve any refund. I asked the clerk to call him and she said she is unable to "bother" him but that she would take down my info. I have been calling for the past 3 days and Mo is never in. I tried sending an email and have yet to receive a response. Best Host Inn while having potential is not a professionally ran business and I should have gotten an idea based on the characters lingering around the property. Don't be fooled by the low rate you clearly get what you pay for here, do yourself a favor and find any other hotel. EDIT: After waiting for the manager I contacted HotelTonight the third party I booked the reservation with initially. HT was able to contact management after trying for 3 days and Mohammed finally authorized them to return the amount I paid for the original one bed room I booked. This resulted in a $64 credit issued towards a future reservation not any money back. Best Host Inn kept the $79 upcharge for the jacuzzi room. In my opinion the reverse should have occurred and I have learned a lesson from the experience but at least I was somewhat compensated.

Our family stayed at the Best Host Inn Buena Park on 6/13/20 for one night. We were in room #207. My husband and I stayed there with our 4 young children. We checked in that evening. After bringing our stuff to the room, we headed out to get some dinner. When we came back later at around 9:00pm, we found our room had been broken into. The lock on our door had been broken and there was visible damage to the lock plate and loosened screws on the deadbolt. Paint was scraped off the wall like somebody had used some tool to break in. My husband's backpack had been stolen. Inside his backpack, his Macbook laptop, Iphone, Bose headphones, among other things. We immediately called the front desk to alert, and called the police to file a police report. When police arrived, I was asked to come to the lobby to speak with them. This was around 10pm. As I left my room and shut the door behind me, I went forward to take the stairs, but was quickly stopped by 3 men who refused to let me past. One man threatened me and moved close to put his hand out to touch me and told me "I couldn't leave." It was clear that the men were doing something bad in the stairwell, and didn't want me in there. I was very frightened and began yelling for my husband and banging my door for him to let me back into the room. I contacted the front desk to tell them I was too scared to leave my room. After waiting several minutes, I ran to the lobby so I could speak with the police. They could not come up to the room because they believed they had caught the suspect. After further reviewing the evidence, it appeared that the security footage that was shown to them for review was not the correct footage from my room, so they did not have the suspect after all. The police then came to my room, where they photographed the broken door, and checked the area. It was discovered that there are no security cameras for room 207 since it is in a separate hallway connected to the stairs. After police left, it took 1.5 hours to get the lock on the door replaced. Our children were sleeping by then, so we could not switch rooms. It wasn't until nearly midnight that we were in our room with the door locked. Fearing for our safety, I stayed up the whole night to check and make sure no one was going to break in again A few other things I wanted to note. 1.The man that came to fix our door lock had a runny nose and tissue in hand when he came to our room. He wasn't wearing a mask the first and second time he came to our door, but then did have a mask on the third time he came by. This added extra stress to us, as we were very concerned about Covid-19. 2. The safe in our room was there, but not working, so we were unable to store any valuables away. 3. Not having security footage and being so close to a stairwell seems like a safety hazard, especially now that whoever broke in likely knows this and could do it again. Our belongings were tracked to a local homeless camp under the I-5, and the likely suspect lives there, and was not caught by police as far as we know. I believe if there had been security cameras in the hall and stairwell, this would have been less likely to happen to us. This experience has left us very distressed. My children were very upset and frightened, as were we. I was surprised to have this happen, as we checked for good reviews before staying. I tried Contacting the Management and no response. The least they could do was refund our stay, and an apology or a "are you alright?" would have been nice. I wasn't even going to mention how run down and dirty our room was, but I am upset that no one has responded to my messages. I attached pictures of some of the things I am referring to. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

My family of 5 have stayed here 4 times in the past 5 years. Always excellent customer service, a nice hot breakfast, FREE parking and clean rooms. We love the easy atmosphere, are never kept waiting and enjoy the hospitality. Our family is frequent travelers and have stayed at hotels all across the country, I appreciate a clean, affordable hotel that makes it easy. I have used cribs from them, and it was simple, they brought it to the room, set it up, and left extra linens. The Kitchenette was clean and well stocked. We Will stay here again on our next visit to the parks.

Room was clean and is a short and easy walk to knotts berry farm. Microwave and refrigerator are in room. The room was inexpensive and a good value as all we did was sleep in the room. Hot breakfast is provided though the quality is not real good. Checking in was easy and friendly, parking is free. If you are going to knotts for the day we really feel we got more than our money’s worth.
