The area is sketchy. The hotel appears to have long term residents. The room appeared to be clean but saw a few bugs as we were packing to check out. As your pulling out of hotel don't make a left and drive past the overpass bridge. This area is absolutely not an area to find yourself in. Right, toward Beach... More

The Portola is an average hotel centrally located for accessing the tourist must visits of Los Angeles. It is clean and comfortable and good for the price we paid. Don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed.

We were there for two days and when we arrived the toilet paper had already been used by the previous guests. The breakfast consisted of bananas and cheap pastries, which was almost okay but it wasn't okay when they just watched us look sadly at the empty banana container and didn't refilll. My room was very dusty so I suggest... More

I bought this hotel room for our family trip. It was a blind deal and after we got it and were told hotel, I was afraid after reading these other reviews. We arrived on check in day and we're greeted by a nice gentleman who was kind and looked very professional. We then went up to the room and again,... More

Stayed here for 16 nights, 2 rooms booked October 2015 for June 2016. Requested 2 ground floor adjoining rooms (not interconnecting) as we travelled with an autistic child and I had just had a second knee replacement 6 weeks prior to travel. We got neither, 3rd floor, rooms 301 and 308! Price was reasonable $2,200 approx, for both rooms, which... More

We discovered bed bugs on the third night. We were so grossed out. They moved us to another room in the middle of the night. Maids don't do a very good job cleaning or changing linens. Never enough towels. The manager told me the owner would call me right away to comp our stay. That was over two weeks ago.... More

Save the money. The rooms are really run-down, needing paint and upgrades. It was clean enough, but the sheets were very scratchy and super loud! Also, whatever they clean with gave my daughter a massive attack of hives all over her body! Every move kept us all awake! Not to mention the 24 hour pool that the people running past... More
