We planned our flight arrival so that we could have lunch at the hotel before heading to the hospital. Although the website said there was a restaurant, turns out it is now open only for breakfast and dinner. Dinner is expensive, breakfast offers only a buffet at $15-25...and there is nothing within walking distance, so if you don't arrive in a car, forget it! The refrigerator rattles, the AC/heater hums, the walls are so thin on both sides that you can practically hear what people are saying. It's clean and the staff have been friendly and accommodating, but it's an older hotel and it's dated...hence the "moderate" price.
We needed a stay in San Francisco that's near the airport area and a room that fits us all. Embassy suites was the choice. The room was spacious, 2 double beds and a sleeping sofa in a separate living room. Hot breakfast was good. The only thing I didn't like was the charge for parking ($37).
Loud party on 7th floor. Inconvenienced - got in close to midnite, had to get up for early flight.. Switched to an accessible room Air conditioner loud. Thin walls Dont answer phone whether you call from room or cell phone Dont return calls, forced to leave multple messages Small parking spaces, lot poorly designed. Plus cost $25.00 Cookies not warm. Left a pair of designer eye glasses in room. Still waiting for a call back.
Area is beautiful. Hotel is newer very nice for a Doubletree but stayed two weeks and $25 a day to park in the huge lot was ridiculous. When I got to my room my frig had previous guests restaurant leftovers in it and water, their sock on the floor, floor wasn’t swept close to the beds. Better after I tipped. The pool was cloudy. Not sure what COVID laws were when I first got there but breakfast was buffet only, dinner starts at five not much selection and draft beer taps covered. Closed on Sun. End of 2nd week, back to normal. Staff was friendly, especially the front desk ladies, and restaurant/bar staff. Beautiful Bay walking path but nothing around for food or drinks in walking distance. Slept great, selection of different pillows and dark blinds.
Upon check in the front desk definitly was not very welcoming did not explain anything seemed very annoyed with any questions I asked about pool and check out. However, there was a maintance guy who was super sweet and also the morning of checkout there was a very sweet gal at the front desk who was very helpful. Hotel pool and hot tub could definitly use a good cleaning there was lots of hair floating around and the water looked gross. Rooms were clean.
Upon arriving at the hotel we were informed that the restaurant was closed, notwithstanding a phone call earlier in the day that assured us the restaurant was indeed open. The hotel is in a remote location with no restaurants in the area. Would not stay here again.
This was an OK stay. Front desk personnel were polite and friendly. It was a woman, couldn't remember her name bur she was smiling and a nice friendly person to see after 8 hour worth of flying. Check in was smooth, got our warm cookies and more throughout the stay if you just ask. The room was ok, bed was OK and shower got nice and hot. The property outside is nice and feels safe. That's the positives. Now onto the improvements. - I dont remember ever seeing ANYTHING about $20 parking per night. I have a few gripes about this. One, I don't recall ever seeing it mentioned while booking. Two, this property is outside the inner city. It's on the outskirts meaning they don't have to worry about other people parking their cars here and taking up space from actual hotel guests. It is a private parking lot. I am not sure why they are charging for parking, seriously. They give you a parking pass to keep on the window. - The room is dark and dated. The carpet looked dusty...perhaps they vacuumed but didn't do a very good job. Some of the fixtures were dusty as well (like the lamp post on the desk for example). I didn't complain because I didn't want to go through the hassle of getting another room only for that to be the same as well. You have to request housekeeping during your stay the day prior otherwise they won't come. I see this with multiple hotels. Stop charging me so much money and giving me less. Might as well save money and stay at a motel 6 next time...only difference is that the motel 6 doesn't give you a cookie and it *should* be free parking. We went to my in law's hotel further up the road. His had more modern amenities oh and a microwave. I forgot to mention this place has no microwaves in the room, just a refrigerator. So for that leftover dinner from a nice restaurant that you may want to have the next day? Forget about it unless you want to eat it cold. They have a microwave downstairs in their little store, but who wants the inconvenience of going downstairs when you can stop being cheap and put a microwave in the room. - Save your money and eat out in town. We ordered wings one night....they were ridiculously salty and we ended up throwing the rest away. Too much money wasted but couldn't even get past the saltiness of the wings. Yuck. I believe they advertised breakfast included....im not 100% sure but there is no breakfast included. There is a great breakfast spot called Aroma Buena Cafe. Great breakfast burritos at an affordable price. Not a touristy spot imo. Overall, this was a disappointing stay. Although we had a great time in San Francisco, I can't say the same for here. I have stayed at a handful of doubletree properties and this one was the worst. If I am ever in San Francisco again, I won't be staying here. 3 stars for location, friendly check-in/check out and having a roof over our heads. Thats all.…
Terrible service, you have to pay for hotel parking $20 each day. I stayed for 3 days I needed room cleaning service and they didnt do it. When I did my reservation it said breakfast was included but apparently It was NOT. The front desk personal was rude , no towels in the pool area , dirty pool. This place is full of lies . I expected more from Hilton
- Hotel rate was high - 2 water bottles and cookies were nice - The cleaning was not good, long hair in the bathtub - god room on the freeway side ( maybe all sides somehow face the freeway? a little noisy for sensitive ears - stayed 2 nights, not even replenishment service ( no new towels, employing of garbage cans) - only one soap between shower and basin - chair was peeling off - $ 20 parking fee was a bad surprise
Maids were good. Waiter was great but was solo. Food actually good. A couple of the people at the reception desk were nice. Hussein at front was VERY rude, would not listen when I was checking out. He literally shoo’d me with his hand & would not make eye contact. I tried to explain that my Company was to be billed for everything except the last night’s stay- I would pay for the last night. What happened? I got billed for the entire week of business expenses!! He didn’t even attempt to understand what I was saying. Just handed me a “receipt “ that didn’t even have the credit card number charged, so I didn’t know until a few days later that he put everything on my personal card. Double Check at the Doubletree!
