Family with 2 small kids - 5 and 8 - we have spent an exceptional vacation at this resort located in the heart of Danube Delta. The traditional fish meals were delicious, not repetitive and more like all-you-can-eat type. We had a spacious, cozy and neat room with an extra bed, our kids were so happy to run, relax and enjoy the nature of the green garden and terrace from the facility. All boat trips have allowed us to explore and discover Danube Delta, reaching all major must-see objectives nearby: natural lakes and linking channels, Letea village including Letea forest and their famous wild horses, old Sulina port and the amazing place of meeting between Danube and Black Sea. It was a genuine trip in a vast open air Zoo and Botanical garden, having aside all the time our resort guides offering us detailed information about the fauna, flora and local customs. A local touch was given by the presence of a traditional choir from Mila 23 village, with songs and dances which have animated both the kids and the grown-ups, as well as an exquisite wine tasting on our arrival evening, during which our host has offered many information about the history and geography of Danube Delta. The personnel from the resort have been discrete but always there to assist and to ensure a perfect stay for all of us. Tourism made out of respect for nature and people, as it should always be! Definitely, a place to return in the next years...

Me and my wife booked a 4 days/3 nights all inclusive package, during July 2019. From the beginning we are transferred from Tulcea, with boats, to Mila 23. They announce you, in advance, by mail, where is the pick-up location, the time, name of the skipper, etc. so you will not get lost or confused. The car can be left in Tulcea, in the harbour, in a guarded parking. At Mila 23 we were welcomed by our host mr. Belacurencu, who explained us all the program for the rest of trip, and also share with us a lot of interesting details and stories from the Danube Delta. Because its not just the place, but also the story behind it, who makes a place great, right?!? The rooms were very clean, tidy, with all the comfort. The package included over 250 km of trips with the boats. We visited and sow amazing and unique places (Letea sub-tropical forest, Sulina, lakes with wild birds, pelicans, swans, eagles, etc.). Our skipper, Stefan, was a great guide, explaining all the time the surroundings and telling us stories about the fisherman's life, present and past. Every day we were offered a menu with local food, where the fish is the king of the kitchen. In one of the days we were offered a show by a choir of ladies who sang local songs wearing traditional clothes. As a conclusion, we really enjoyed this amazing experience. I highly recommend the place. We are definitely thinking to come back, next year, for a new adventure into the Danube Delta.

Pensiunea Dunarea Veche offer full package services in Delta Danube. So you don't have to worry about your schedule. Your time will be very well managed by the owner and his team. In the first day the owner will present the schedule for your stay and tell you very interesting stories of places and people. The accomodation ,the food , the atmosphere is local flavour. A special mention for our guide Stefan , a nice and discret person. All you have to do is to enjoy the beatifull landscapes and to heard the local fairy tales.

I had a 5 day stay at Dunarea Veche in August 2018. The accomodation was excellent, within a 8 room guest house renovated partially in traditional style (strow roof). It is a family business, we have met one of the owners, a warm person which is passionate about the sustainable development of the area and has a keen view on the matter. The food was great, fish based, everything produced within the house. The trips on the channels were designed carefully to offer both an essential experience within the Danube Delta and quality time, together with unforgettable memories. You have nice long trips on Danube channels, both large and smalls. You get to see the place where Danube flows into the sea. You get to know a lovely small town - Sulina - which was once one of the most important ports in the late 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century. You get a glimpse into the traditions of Lipoven community of Mila 23, the small village of fishermen forced to turn to rural tourism for survival. The program was flexible and the experimented skipper was able to acomodate special requests from an heterogenous group of persons aged 13 to 50. All in one, it was an intense trip and I strongly recommend.

In my opinion, Donau Delta should be the number one on your list if you decide to visit Romania. It has something special and the host tries to capture that. The tours that are offered are covering almost everything you have to see there and it's very easy for a tourist to discover the area. The rooms are modern and very clean and the food is excellent. The staff is very friendly and they can answer to all your questions and are very well prepared. The only thing you have to do now is to book a room, pack some nice warm clothes ( on the boat is windy and it can be cold, you should have at least a hoodie ) and enjoy your time there:)

This 4-day adventure exceeded all expectations. Hosts are extremely knowledgeable, very open and friendly, and very experienced with groups (they anticipated and answered every contingency, question, issue etc. (including for 2 kids in our group). The 8-room pension is exactly as advertised, but we did not expect such excellent meals! Also, the boat guides had encyclopedic knowledge of Delta; they knew exactly where and when to find the wonders. The open boats are the best way to experience the Delta, including in the rain! This team (father, son, 2 boat guides, staff) are too good for words. They know exactly what groups want and how to provide it for a wonderful Delta experience. You cannot go wrong with this team!
