If you are in șearch of discovering the heart of the Danube Delta, having a relaxing time and eating good fish- based food, we definitely recommend this wonderful trip! Accomodation was perfect , we had a clean and wide room, comfortable bed, the house has a garden full of beautiful flowers, the excellent kitchen was based one a variety of fish food and the trips were very well organized. We had also a great funny guide on the boat, Mihai and enjoyed all five trips offered during our 3 nights' stay. The host are very welcoming and offered a detailed presentation of the landscapes and trips to come. We departed with high spirits and will come back one day !

The best place in Mila 23 to stay , eat and visit the secret places in Danube Delta. The staff is very friendly and best serving persons , the owner is the best instructor and trainer who train us what and where to go to see the real wild life in Danube Delta. The food is original and homy confort food freshly made every day with local fish and ingredients. The is more than adequate. And also our guide , Stefan, who guide us through canals to see floras and faunas and explaine every name of the birds and flowers, how to birds nest and feed the baby’s birds, to guide us in safari through wild horses in Letea forest and so on through the other beautiful and amazing countryside places in this region.

We loved our recent visit to the Danube Delta. This was our first visit there, but won't be our last, now that we know about the perfect package of lodging, food and boat tours offered by this charming pension . The facility is relatively new and modern, with a big yard and lush garden and a delightful house dog called Sarah. It is located in the very heart of the Delta, in a fishing village called Mila 23. From our arrival to Tulcea, till we were dropped off in Tulcea , we were very well taken care off. We had twice a day long boat tours along the canals and lakes of this amazing delta. Our boat driver and guide, Misha , grew up there, son of local fishermen, so he knows all the nooks and crannies of the delta and loves to show it to visitors. We saw a large number of a variety of water fowl,-- pelicans, swans, ducks, geese, egrets, ibis, cormorant, kingfisher, herons of various types, sizes and colors. Other birds, vultures, frogs, lizards. We saw lots of the beautiful happy wild horses of the delta. We visited the most northern tropical forest in the world in the delta. We also visited sand dunes interspersed with forests , remnants of an ancient ocean that covered this area. The lush vegetation, the gorgeous views along the canals make this a true living paradise.
In mid May we had perfect weather, until our departure day when it rained. And no mosquitoes in May ! I highly recommend Pensiunea Dunarea Veche for your visit. We shall be back.

I've spent the Easter vacation here with my family, the accommodation was great, the food was very tasty. The most interesting part was that every day, we had 2 boat trips, on the lakes near by boat and through all the channels known by our guide, who is a local fisherman.
I fully recommend this place, and will certainly return

Thanks to our host, we stayed with 12 persons in a beautiful environment at the Danube delta. The welcome was very warm, the accomodation was perfect ! We had a fine guide to guide us through the delta. The hostel is very nice, warm, clean, and restfull, and to mentioned to very tasty fishfood! We had some 3 days of pure rest there. Just what we needed after our journey. Thanks to our host we explored the delta in tiny little boats, just quit on the delta to observe all the birds. It was a delighter on our trip around the black sea :-)

Coming back from the Danube Delta I had a feeling that I must tell it to all of you; so, everything was all right: accommodation, food and atmosphere.
Our guide told us a lot of interesting things about the Delta.
All the trips on water were wonderful - lots of birds and flowers.
But...it's better to come and see it yourself.

We were there for 2 nights and it was amazing. The host organised 5 excursions, one of which was to see the sunset...it was something incredible.
The food was very good and every product was fresh. Overall I have nothing to complain about...these were the best 2.5 days we spent in Romania.

We went with a group on a trip of four days in the Danube Delta. Our selection in the Pensiunea DUNAREA VECHE located in word 23 and his team stemmed resulted from Their attitude to our requests. When we got to the meeting point we realized they were all promises, we have provided the boats we had ordered and made our facilities is accompanied by an English speaking. The tours were very successful.Staff gave excellent treatment, meals are excellent, and the rooms are cozy and comfortable. Highly recommended for small groups up to about 16 people

In my opinion, Donau Delta should be the number one on your list if you decide to visit Romania. It has something special and the host tries to capture that. The tours that are offered are covering almost everything you have to see there and it's very easy for a tourist to discover the area. The rooms are modern and very clean and the food is excellent. The staff is very friendly and they can answer to all your questions and are very well prepared. The only thing you have to do now is to book a room, pack some nice warm clothes ( on the boat is windy and it can be cold, you should have at least a hoodie ) and enjoy your time there:)

We booked the all inclusive stay that is available on the Dunarea Veche website and would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in discovering a slice of the Danube Delta. The daily program was exactly as described on the website. The accommodation was very good, in modern, clean and spacious rooms, with wifi throughout the property. The grounds are very nicely kept, a pleasant way to spend an afternoon or evening. The food was amazing and plentiful, all the meals fresh and extremely tasty. All the excursions we took with our guide Mihai were fantastic, he took us to some sites that don't show on maps and showed us lots of hidden beauties of the Delta. He is very knowledgeable and speaks English very well. Thank you all and we hope to be back again!
