Beds are comfortable. Suite is spacious. The grounds are nice and well maintained. There is a pool and a barbecue pit. Great place to begin and end the day. Not far from Mono Lake, Bodie State Park and Yosemite. There isn't a restaurant on property, but Bridgeport is small so you aren't far from sit down or take out options.
A small, older motel which has been upgraded but still has noisy air conditioning. Has in room refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and a comfortable bed. Pillows wer small, cheap and uncomfortable. Curtains need upgrade to oversize so you can close entirely and block the bright lights. Still dog friendly ~ our reason for choosing but soon they will charge extra for dogs:-( Nice location on the river and green areas for dogs.
Booked a month and a half in advance and glad we did as the parking lot was full on a Wednesday night. The room was adequate with two queen beds and very comfortable mattresses. Lots of pillows and an extra blanket in the closet. Nice size fridge and small microwave. The TV had a good picture but the audio was awful, very tiny and hard to understand what people were saying. It was a flat screen Haier. The room was clean and had recently been updated however the bathroom sink was very low making it difficult for a taller person to use. The lighting over the sink was very poor. The toilet kept running once flushed and the lid would have to be removed and the float adjusted. The blackout drapes needed some attention as some of the hangers had come loose and the drapes were just hanging not attached to the rod. All in all it was fine but rather expensive for the area.…
On a recent road trip we chose this place in advance because it looked pretty good. Believe me, it's not. From the check-in until departure the next morning, it was just awful. The woman who checked us in was aloof and certainly not welcoming in any way and the room (and premises) were broken down and dirty. RAMSHACKLE is the best way to describe it. No privacy, either - the decks off each room are all connected, so you step outside and there's your neighbor(s) five feet away. And don't be fooled by the Walker River advertising - the river looked like some drainage canal in some urban area. I definitely would not recommend this place. Plus, there is no decent place to eat or drink in the town. Pass it by!
We had a very pleasant stay in the Walker River Lodge for an extended weekend. Our room was spacious, including a fridge and space to sit and have coffee and breakfast. We enjoyed the nice view from our porch to the grassy area/river which is easy accessible through a back door. There are also picnic tables available, great for families. Our daughter forgot her earrings and the manager was so kind to mail them to us. Very friendly and clean.
I was traveling through and wished I could stay longer.a huge pool, room with a slider that goes onto your own porch.big grassy area that goes down to the river.beautiful view past the river to the mountains.huge room with great fly fishing scenes and carved wood mirror.old style motel,u shaped so your car is right in front of your rooom.get the deluxe on the river unit.well worth the up charge.I am coming back to see all the amazing lakes and hiking places.I ate 2 meals in my room with no real effort.microwave, frig and good counter space.gas grill and baroque’s outside by river.allow pers and horse shoe pits.I am in love
This was ideal for having our two dogs with us. Plenty of grassy area and dogs were allowed in the room. The room was very small, but was OK for just our short stay. We were within walking distance to town and places to eat.
I ended up staying here on a recent 395 roadtrip as a result of a last minute change of plans due to inclement weather. I was pleasantly surprised by the rooms and site location. I didn't expect a waterfront view and private deck off the back porch! My dog loved hanging out, on leash, on the cool and well-maintained lawn. I enjoyed the peaceful views of the Eastern Sierra from the deck. The Lodge wasn't providing breakfast at the time due to the pandemic. However, there are several restaurants all within close proximity. The room was clean and bed was very comfy. It had everything I needed! In fact, I liked the motel so much, I booked another night on my return trip! The second room was just as clean and comfortable as the first room! You can't ask for a better location on 395 and close to Bodie State Historic Park. The one and only downside has nothing to do with the motel. The rules state that all dogs must be leashed while outside. I saw a few dogs off leash using the lawn area as a dog park which ruins it for the rest of us. The last thing my senior and mostly blind dog needs is an untrained big dog running free to pounce on him! Please keep your dog leashed outside while staying here.…
This is an older hotel in a very walkable historic town with a LOT of fishing and fishing camps. Stayed here at last minute on our way to visit Bodie,CA. The age shows, but I think that was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in…ever!!! Didn’t even wake up when the fishermen left in the morning. Got a great recommendation for dinner, check in and check out were easy. Parking was ample. I would stay here again.
I decided to finally take my family out for a vacation. My husband decided to try out this motel, and upon arrival the heavy woman checked us in, but was very rude. We wanted the king room because I am a disabled female. The woman behind the counter informed my husband that we couldn't have the room because it is a handicap room. My husband informed her that I indeed have a disability. Now bare in mind I'm in the car with my kids because it was POURING down rain. So this woman NEVER even saw me, but insisted I was NOT disabled, but we bought a room anyway because it was wet and cold. Upon arrival to the room my husband went to check it out, and come to find out the $170+ room had a HOLE in the floor. My husband went immediately back to the front desk to the woman and informed her the room was unacceptable ESPECIALLY for $170+. She informed us this was news to her (which I find odd because she said it was the best room, shouldn't housekeepers or customers have told her by now? It was clearly from wood rot and that doesn't just happen overnight.) We got our refund and stayed somewhere else. DON'T RENT HERE!!! BEWARE!!! NOT FRIENDLY TO TOURISTS!!!…
