We found this place by accident but really enjoyed our time here! We went to visit Mono Lake and this was well priced and close to Bodie State Historic Park! The rooms were very nice, large and accomodating. Bed was super comfortable and the staff very friendly as well. We

I was traveling through the area and found this place on Trip Advisor before I left home. I was thinking it was going to be in the town of Bridgeport, so I drove right by it but flipped u-e. The owner checked me in. The room was perfect, comfortable, spacious. I loved having the

When traveling, I don't expect and rarely get, but wish for the fairy tale experience that Disney manufactures, and therefore can't really deliver. Virginia Creek Settlement did, though. It's lovely little cabins in the forest along the edge of a perfect mountain stream.

Whether it's four stars or five this place is Awesome! Such an unexpected treasure as it's not often you can find a semi-rural place with great lodging and delicious food. Even if you don't need a bed for a night I highly recommend stopping in for breakfast or dinner. Oh and

Thanks for writing! The tent cabins are very basic, rustic units, think camping. They have beds , a light, and and you use the campground shower and restroom facility. We provide the bedding linens and towels. There is a small space heater as well as a fan. The shower will be clean and hot, and we do our best to provide clean units as well, but be prepared for a camping experience. We have a restaurant on the premises open breakfast lunch and dinner Typically 7am - 9pm, or we have bbq facilities if you prefer. The tent cabins are typically open April - October.

Lily, Virginia Creek Settlement is several hours from the trail heads you mention and that includes crossing Tioga Pass, nearly 10,000'. With summer traffic it could be longer. I recommend Virginia Creek Settlement as a good base for day hikes into the Hoover Wilderness via Twin Lakes and hikes around Tuolumne Meadows and Tioga Pass, but not those departing from Yosemite Valley floor.
