I searched high and low for a special place to take my daughter to satisfy her love of nature and horses. Hunewill Ranch made her happier beyond my expectations! This place is a REAL cattle ranch with REAL working horses. The rides are well designed - beginners receive great attention and care, while intermediate and advanced riders were never bored....

This is my third trip to the ranch, and I know I will continue to visit once annually. I have tried three different times of year (Fall Color Ride Weekend, Memorial Day Weekend, and now this weekend, the one right before Labor Day weekend) and each visit has been fantastic. I don't think any one is better than the other,...

Although the accommodations were very nice, food was good, and service was excellent, the best things about Hunewill Ranch were the horses and the wranglers. My husband and I are seniors but have done a lot of riding and the ranch matched us perfectly to horses that were responsive and sensible. Our thanks to all of the staff and we...

Took my grandson for a visit to the Hunewill Guest Ranch and we both loved it! The location, the horses, the activities, and most of all, the wonderful Hunewill Family and staff. My grandson is 10 and he was in horse heaven. Can't say enough about this place and the feeling you get when you are there. No electronics or...

I wanted to experience a cattle drive. I dreamed of having a real cowboy experience. I got all of that and more. The cattle drive puts you back in the Old West, driving cows over stock trails that have been in use since the 1860's. You are going to see breath taking scenery and vistas that allow you to see...

My family has traveled around the world but this is our favorite annual vacation.. We have tried other guest ranches and they are boring compared with Hunewill. They offer beginning to advanced riding and special wranglers for beginners who are excellent at teaching how to ride. My family has been visiting since 2004 and we love the long lopes through...

My wife and I booked the fall color ride and spent four wonderful days at the ranch seeing fall begin in the Eastern Sierras. The rides to the hot springs in Buckeye Canyon and the high ride to Crown Lake were unforgettable. As always, the Hunewill family and staff broke their necks making our stay the very best. This was...

Learning how to ride horses in Golden Gate Park, I have been dreaming of coming to a ranch, like Hunewill, since I was 10 years old. Special thanks to my husband for coming along for the ride...literally! Many of the Hunewill guests are like my husband with almost zero riding experience. The majority of their horses are very safe for...

Where do I start? We just went there for the 20th year in a row. The kids (now adults) love it, and so do my husband. Wonderful riding, incredible hospitality from the same family that had run the ranch for more than 100 years.

We just returned from 5 days at this ranch and enjoyed the whole experience. All the other guests had been coming to the ranch for years so were well used to everything the ranch and the immediate area had to offer, but we were seeing things for the first time. I did not ride but my daughter did and she...
