Detailed Reviews
My wife selected the honeymoon suite in The Cain House portion of the Silver Maple Inn property right on Main St. in Bridgeport for our stay. This was a second-floor room with a queen-sized bed and ensuite bathroom. The stairway going up to this room was quite narrow, consisting of 2 small flights, and rather steep, in keeping with its age. Apparently, this home had been moved here at some point from its original location in the near and now ghost town CA State Park of Bodie. It was a moderate-sized room, also in keeping with the period of its build. The catch upon our arrival was that the room had perhaps only been superficially cleaned: we found a sock under the dresser (easily visible), a moisturizing tube laying on the floor heater vent, a wrapper of some kind on the rug, a cracked glass in the bathroom and another that had obviously not been cleaned well. Someone on the cleaning staff was obviously not paying attention. We raised these issues the next morning with management and was quickly offered a credit on our stay as no other room was available. We were also told that she would personally supervise the cleaning of our room. We found it most agreeable in that regard. The soundproofing in the room was not much as, again, in keeping with the time of its original building, rooms tended to be built close together and soundproofing was not really much of a consideration. Remember, this was originally a private family home now serving a very different purpose. The bed frame was also a bit creaky. The room had a small TV mounted on the wall carrying DirecTV, a small fridge and a Keurig coffee brewer. There was a microwave on the first floor near the entrance which seemed a bit odd. The main floor sitting room had a beautiful fireplace which we can only imagine would be lovely when/if actually in use. While we considered this to be a fairly pricey accommodation given its regular daily rate, the credit we were given made it acceptable. Still, if we come this way again, we might very well give this spot another try because of the management, or try one of the other rooms in its regular motel accommodations. A qualified recommendation given our overall experience.

Property's Favorite Review
Pros: clean rooms- nice wood looking floors - was greeted warmly at the office - has fridge and coffee maker in room.
Cons: Had problems with the TV office staff had to come and get it working - the rooms really NEED a rug at the entry door because floor got real Sandy from just walking in and it’s terrible to put you bare feet on. They really NEED A RUG to rub your shoes on.

We stayed here for one night after visiting Yosemite Park and on our way to Death Valley.
The room is small for 3 people, the bathroom even smaller. It was clean though. Breakfast is served in another building: boiled eggs, yogurt, coffee, milk, tea, packaged juices.
It’s OK for spending one night on your way to some other place. Very reasonably priced

My sister & I stopped here for the night on a short road trip. This is easily the nicest spot to stay in town and likely the only B&B style spot. When we checked in at the Silver Maple, the woman at the front was absolutely wonderful...she was so warm, helpful, and genuine. We stayed in the Cain room and enjoyed having a private entrance while still being able to eat in communal areas if we wished. The room was small but had everything we need including a good shower and a cute four poster bed (which is very high off the ground!). The only thing it was lacking was AC and we got a bit toasty. I believe some of the other rooms do have AC however.

Very low quality motel. Rooms are tiny and in poor conditions.
Beds are old and mattresses not comfy. Bathroom is as big as a stamp.
TV didn’t work, Wi-Fi didn’t work; we had to go to the office and after 20 minutes the lady came.
No service in the evening and night. Office opens at 8 am so, no coffee before then.
Way way overpriced.
As a compensation we had a wonderful breakfast experience at the Bridgeport inn, a real boutique hotel two blocks away with restaurant that offers very good food and a pleasant service. That’s where we’ll lodge next time….

Motel makes a great impression on arrival. Beautiful well-kept garden, nice bright and fresh Motel colors that give the idea again and to have arrived in a privileged, almost luxurious place.
Upon entering the room, immediately a strong smell of detergent. Not excessively annoying but still excessive.
The room is a little old, old-fashioned. Old furniture, dated blankets.
Clean room and bed ok. But as nice and cool as it is outside, and creates expectations, as old and dated inside, and a little disappoints.

We have stayed here the last 2 weekends.
Love this place. Bridgeport is a cute little town and a great place to stay the night and get out and see the beautiful lakes and rivers.
Silver Maple is a gem! Beautiful immaculate grounds and our “dog room” is just spotless. There is outside seating on the huge lawn area..... very peaceful.
Roxanne in the office is awesome. Makes sure you are happy and have what you need.
Look forward to more stays here!

Beautiful grass grounds in the middle of the property.
Room was small and nice enough, but the drapes stunk of air freshener spray. The green pillow covers looked a little dirty like they aren't changed. Not my favorite place we stayed during our road trip, but based on driving through and dinning in Bridgeport I think it's probably one of the best options.

Not much choice in the area, to go through Bodie before going to the Yosemite, so it's good that this Motel, very retro, is here.
The rooms are clean but small. It is enough to spend one night during a stage and one can park easily.
There was a strong smell of cleaning product. It is not inconvenient, but not very pleasant.

We were given a lovely reception and allocated a room with fab views. The bed was very comfortable and room equipped with everything you could want; fridge, coffee machine and there are also several bbqs in the garden for you to use. The room was very clean and plenty of towels. Wish we could have stayed longer - it's a great place.
