The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet. I enjoyed the deep bathtub. The little balcony was nice although our view was the parking lot. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location was perfect for exploring both the park and town. Although staff said the pool was heated, it was way too cold for me and I noticed the aqua aerobics class was mostly wearing wet suits. So no pool time. (There is a smallish hot tub that I didn’t try). Room amenities on the sparse side with absolutely no literature about the area provided or even a guide to resort services or television channels. In my opinion, the resort fee here is pretentious and should just be folded into the room price. No incentive to try the nearby hotel restaurant such as complimentary or even discounted breakfast or happy hour offers. We stopped in for drinks and service was quite slow with one person covering both the bar and restaurant. We will probably be trying a different lodging option when we visit the area again.

My 2 grown daughters and I like to go away without family for a fun weekend. We were able to do this at this resort. The room was big enough for 3 adults and the table allowed us to sit and play games and visit. The check in process was flawless and having a restaurant and bar within walking distance was perfect. We enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi which were both clean and well maintained. There was no daily maid service but a simple phone call provided us with needed supplies.
Water bottles were provided free of charge, and the staff was friendly and available.
There is no elevator so we stayed on the lower floor - with a patio which was surrounded by shrubs and trees.

This was our second stay here on frequent trips to Borrego during the pandemic. We liked our room (#213 on the ground floor of bldg 2.) Our patio faced an interior walkway; superior to the ones facing a parking lot. The rooms are spatious, although the furniture is a bit dated (1980s), yet in good condition (except for one chair which had one too many heavyset people sit on it). Good amenities (swimming pool and on site restaurant plus free bicycle rentals). I also liked the fact they had a refrigerator in the lobby with a good selection of beers and bottles of wine for sale (very convenient). On our previous stay last year we had a suite which included a separate bedroom and large living area. We liked both lodging options.

Brought my wife down for a getaway, and it was absolutely worth it! The pool could be a little bigger, but it wasn't packed with people so that was nice, and the hot tub was nice to take advantage of after it cooled down. My wife got a pedicure in the spa, and loved it. The tv channels were okay, glad the AC unit worked well. Our room was pretty spacious i thought, but the furniture and fixtures could use a facelift. The staff was really nice and helpful, and the Spa Manager was really helpful squeezing my wife in for the pedicure. Would recommend this resort to friends but definitely dont come in the middle of summer

First, I'll say we *know* we visited in the off-season, but we were truly disappointed in the property.

We didn't find out until we arrived that the main pool was closing the next day for repairs. They did offer an alternative pool, but that was a disappointment.

And first suite we were given (what we booked) smelled HORRIBLE! When we asked to be moved, we also asked for a room that didn't overlook the parking lot and were told they were all booked. We later realized they blocked the rooms looking at the pool because of the disruption around the pool. Understandable, but being lied to about it wasn't great.

The suite we were given only had A/C in the room, not the hallways. We asked them to turn the hallway A/C on since it was 120-degrees inside and they said it didn't work. So we had to go through a sauna just to get out of the building.

But the biggest disappoinment was the lights. The reason we visited was to see the stars. Borrego Springs (the area) is a "night sky" location without street lights and low/blue outdoor lights. That was true EVERYWHERE except at Borrego Springs Resort & Spa. We ventured out at 2:00 AM to see the stars and found the entire property lit up with street lamps, multiple bright lights on the buildings, etc. So that was a bust.

Overall, the entire experience was less than great. If you're looking at this property and there are other options, I recommend taking them.

We appreciate all feedback good and bad. We apologize for not meeting your expectations. We did have a very short notice on our pool repair to which we regret to have had our guests deal with. Again please reach out to us to make this right and we hope to be able to make this up for in the future.

"Resort" is a bit of a reach. They have not watered the golf course in years, but that created a bird sanctuary that my wife loved! The rooms are clean and functional, the grounds the same, and the pool area inviting and enjoyed! Internet was terrible, but not the hotel's fault, as apparently it is bad throughout the area, but the front desk invited me into the lobby where the connection was better. Very accommodating. Unlike a prior review, there was friendly housekeeping; we said "Do not disturb" but asked the housekeepers for refills of coffee and water and they gladly accommodated us. Finally, dinner in The Arches adjacent restaurant was delightful. The menu is limited but the food and drink first class. Juan, our server both nights, was a terrific guy and appropriately attentive. All in all a bargain alternative to Palm Springs,.

In all fairness, Covid-19 and the depressed travel economy has done a number on this “resort”. The golf course was abandoned at the end of 2019 however, before Covid was a factor. Because of Covid, the fitness center and jacuzzi were closed. The Spa operates only over the weekend, and we didn’t happen to try it. Likewise their restaurant, The Arches, is closed Monday through Wednesday. Based on relatively poor reviews and excellent reviews for local restaurants, we also did not try out this amenity.
The tennis courts are in poor shape, faded and chipped. They were in full sun with no water fountain in view and pretty much no seating. They don’t get a lot of use here as I saw no one on them during our week stay. When I asked at the front desk if they had racquets, they didn’t seem sure. As a Pickleball player, they ought to consider converting one or two tennis courts into Pickleball courts when finances allow; they might get more use.
The room was clean when we checked in and the front desk was happy to change out our towels, as there was no maid service secondary to Covid. The pool looked sparkling. It was noisy because some children were having a good time there. The resort advertises two pools but the second one is reserved for guests using the Spa,and it is only open a fraction of the week. The management should consider opening the Spa pool to resort adult only guests when the Spa is closed, the majority of the week.
All told, at this time I would consider this more of a motel with a nice pool than a resort but we had a nice stay in an interesting desert community.

The housekeeper never came in to make the bed, provide fresh towels, empty the trash or even refill the coffee packs. They said it was to protect their staff. Well, at this late point in the pandemic, that is no longer a valid excuse. They haven't lowered their rates and still charge a resort fee. for what???

The room above us had a very noisy AC unit that made the bedroom unbearable. Had to sleep on the pull-out couch in the living room. We did get moved to another room next morning but it cost us half a day and a bit of aggravation because it turns out the front desk knew the unit was a noise issue. Rooms themselves are large and nice. Bed was too soft for me. Restaurant was excellent- great chef. Portions are huge. Surprised there weren't more people eating there.
Pool area can be noisy if a certain crowd takes over. Had to listen to some Death Metal for a while. Would stay again but it would also double check everything in the room before unpacking and setting up. Also prefer a non-pool view unless you're really into it.
