From the day we arrived, we were treated like royals. Thank you to Ronel and Norman for looking after us and spoiling us the whole time. The suite was beautiful and clean and we had a cozy fire the whole time. The food and wine was superb and thank you to the Chef and all the other staff for looking after us. We definite recommend this Manor for a weekend stay anytime. Very Quit and you can only hear the birds singing. Exquisite!
Food - was good. Service from Lawrence was good. Warm welcome from Ronel No WIFI No TV Signal 10h20 - 3 people knocked at the door to basically all me to leave. Happy for a gentle reminder but 3 people asking me to leave is aggressive especially since i was accommodating with regards to the lack of WIFI and TV.
What an amazing hotel! If you are looking for some quiet time away this will be paradise. Norman was exceptional ensuring the service was unprecedented. Their is very little to do there and in the surrounding areas. If you are one of those people that need something to do, you might not enjoy it. But if you enjoy a good book, great glass of wine, delicious food and a swim, you will love it.
Amazing staff. Only one night but food was perfect. The accommodation was pleasant, good quality for a bed, beautiful bathroom. The property and its location was just right for our journey. The peace and the view I won't forget. The breakfast was delicious.
Hidtorical Cape beauty on the highveld provides an extraordinary blend of graceful architecture, spacious and elegant suites, sublime cuisine from the chef Eddie, attentive world class service from Norman and a welcoming and helpful team including Emelly and Connie. Serene spa experience topped it off. A wonderful place to retreat to, close enough but away from it all!
Welgelegen Manor is an absolute jewel. We were treated like royals during our stay. We honestly felt like Lords of the Manor! The food was excellent and the table settings and decorations were exquisite!
A restful weekend in the country spent in a beautiful and tastefully elegant Manor. The suite we had was so large and well appointed, not to mention the lovely rose garden and surrounds.Dinner and breakfast was top notch, but best of all was the care and attention that we got from Norman and Emelly. We were thoroughly spoilt without feeling the staff hovering, were sorry we only booked for one night. Would highly recommend as a luxury weekend getaway. An added bonus was that it took us all of 15 minutes to get to the Manor😊
The drive to Balfour might be a little strange depending on the route you take, but once you have negotiated the dirt road to the Manor, you are welcomed by the magnificent manor house and their friendly staff. We immediately noticed the quietness. It was bliss. We were upgraded to a palatial suite. I always judge a place by the coffee that they offer in the room, and I am pleased to say that filter coffee was offered, and topped up at my request. Dinner was exquisite, lamb loin with some veges. It was a 3 course meal. Breakfast was traditional fare of eggs, bacon and so on. It is always a nice touch when the Chef presents himself to be complemented. The only disappointment was that we had requested a late checkout which was approved, but on the day, the staff didn't allow it. We initially wanted to entertain our family for Sunday lunch, but the price was exorbitant, so we didn't book. The history is incredible. I urge you to read the book that was printed with the construction and family history. …
I flew in with a friend for breakfast. The staff were super accommodating and friendly. Breakfast was exceptional. I can highly recommend the venue and its friendly staff. Simply beautiful architecture!
Execellent personalized service and 5 star meals. Rooms are very large with excellent bathrooms and very clean. Location not the best, very little to do in the area, so a maximum of 2 to 3 nights recommended.
