#1 of 62 Specialty lodging in Big Bear Region
Fresh paint, new wallpaper, hardwood flooring, flat-screen TVs, new linens and so much more has transformed Hillcrest Lodge into a charming and cozy get-a-way. Hillcrest is within a block of the Alpine Slide & snow play area and only a half mile from The Village and Big Bear Marina. There are restaurants, bakery and a Brewery half a block away. And the new tent venue for weddings and small concerts is just across the street. We know you'll want to stay with us.

What a great experience! Fabulous owners, so warm and welcoming! Our unit was impeccably clean and not a paint chip to be found in our suite. All the amenities of home; so comfy! Extremely comfortable mattress with pleasantly, light scented powder-like sheets to sleep on. Luxurious bath towels. A beautiful outdoor area to relax and take in the scent of the pine trees. The lodge has a gas bbq for your convenience. Great location close to the village and to take a walk in the neighborhood. Close to a great hiking trail too. This will definitely be our "go to" place in Big Bear! Thank you for an amazing stay!

Did a last minute quick overnight getaway. Hillcrest lodge had a cabin available, the reviews were good so booked it and arrived next day around 1:00. They allowed us to check in early. It was the last cabin at the end of the row cabins at the back of the property we noticed construction going behind our cabin on the land directly behind the lodge. By 8 AM the following morning we were awoke by two huge trenchers and diggers and a jackhammer drilling and pounding away into the ground it shook our cabin and we were not able to sleep or rest. The noise was unbearable. The dust made us cough.. I looked outside our front door and a trencher and workers we working less then 20 ft from our little cabin. We checked out and told the owners about the situation they were apologetic and said a huge lodge is being built behind the property. They were very nice, but needless to say we did not enjoy a very restful overnight getaway. Buyer beware ..until construction is completed it’s a very noisy stay. $190.00 wasted. Celia Day

My family and I stayed at the Hillcrest Lodge for a family getaway, and I would highly recommend it! Ken and Val provide the best hospitality experience in all of Big Bear, and went to great lengths to ensure that our stay was enjoyable. Each guest room has its own personal touches to make it feel like home away from home. The location couldn't be better! There are restaurants within walking distance, a brewery across the street, a great bakery within a couple minutes walk, and walking distance from the Alpine Slide at Magic Mountain. Highly recommended!

So glad to have stayed at Hillcrest. The rooms are great! We stayed in room 9, a one bedroom w/ a small kitchen. Perfect amount of space for my family of 3 and our dog. The location was great, 1 mile walk to the Village & a few restaurants were within walking distance, The lodge was clean & nicely kept. Also very kids friendly! The owners Ken & Val were amazing! They were so nice, kind & accommodating. When we got home my husband said "I dont think I will stay anywhere else now that we have found Hillcrest"

I cannot say enough good about this place. We found it because of the great reviews and they did not disappoint!! Ken and Val are so kind and you can tell they have poured their heart and soul into this beautiful property. I have two crazy boys and they absolutely loved this place. They have a community pingpong table and sand box all on the gorgeous deck. It was a nice place to be without having to leave. We stayed in the cottage and it was perfect for us. Ken and Val have beautifully restored the original wood ceilings and wood inlays throughout the sweet little house. There was so much room to roam around yet at the same time feel cozy. The wifi worked great and there is a thermostat controlled fireplace for when the air got a bit too chilly. My boys loved the twin over double bunk and my husband and I felt like we were staying in a beautiful bnb. The kitchen is well stocked and perfect for a family get away. At one point my 5 year old asked if we could live there!! The cottage has a back yard with a place for a fire. We were able to roast marshmallows cook hamburgers on the bbq and enjoy the gorgeous night sky. From now on whenever we go to big bear I won't have to look online because we will.be staying at Hillcrest lodge!!
