The Crescent powered by Sonder has garnered praise for its friendly and efficient service, with a check-in process that many guests find seamless. Nestled in the heart of Beverly Hills, this hotel's prime location is frequently celebrated by travelers. While the rooms are noted for their cleanliness and unique style, some guests have raised concerns about maintenance and air conditioning. The hotel's amenities, including on-site dining and valet parking, are appreciated by many, though others consider them limited. Despite some grievances regarding value due to issues like mold, the overall atmosphere is described as stylish with a boutique flair.

Nice art deco style and great location next to the best restaurants. They have very competitive pricing thanks to cutting on secondary services like breakfast or daily cleaning (you can get it under demand). But honestly, if you are of the sort that just goes to the hotel to sleep and that’s it, its the place to be!

I traveled to Beverley Hills for work and spent most of my time at work or in bed because I wasn't feeling very well. One night I was so sick that the only thing I could think of eating was chicken soup. As I entered the hotel from the restaurant side I saw a young man (whom I later identified as Juan) and asked if there was any chicken soup. He told me that they did not serve chicken soup, but very quickly said but wait one moment I believe we have all of the ingredients, let me ask the chef if he would make you some. He came back and said the chef would make it for me and he would bring it to the room. I have to tell you that coming from The Bahamas where we are taught to be hospitable from the day we could walk, I have never seen such hospitality anywhere ever! I worked in hotels and traveled where I stayed in many. I think that this young man Juan deserves some recognition for representing your property in such grand fashion! I would definitely recommend the Cresent Hotel!

After 2 stays in a month, I feel they do their best to make their guests feel at home. Everyone is so nice, pleasant and helpful. While most everything is shut down during covid, they still offer happy hour and breakfast, you just have to have it brought to your room since they're not allowed to have the restaurant or bar open.

The worst, believe me, the worst experience I have had in a hotel, after the Marriot Renaissance in New York, has been at the Sonder, @CrescentHotel, at Los Angeles, California

It is not Airbnb, but it is not a hotel either and although, the reservation was made by @AmericanExpress Travel Services USA and they promise you a luxury hotel, Frankly they have no idea what they are selling

First: the hotel has no reception. Everything you have to do it online and they give you a code to enter your room.

Second: it has no parking.
It does not have an elevator to the second floor

Third: It does not have room service and normally, there is no one to take care of you

It is an old building in the best area of Beverly Hills, adapted to hotel which look like roadside motels.

The bathroom looks like those in a penitentiary at the movies, so small, with that you can't dry it, in the same bathroom after taking a shower
The shower is so small that it could fit half a person
Decorayion of the bathroom is gray cement wall and that's all

To watch TV, you have to connect your phone or computer to Chrome cast. Download the app and give your card numbers in advance

The corner where the hotel is located, is extremely noisy.
Beverly Hills has become as a track for drag racing by Lamborghinis, Ferraris and other sports noise cars.
Just at this corner they turn around
Returning to the hotel, the room is truly and embarrassingly ugly

The worst disappointments, don't make cleaning or housekeeping service

They do it the day you leave and before the next guest arrives

I am not sure about the sanitation measures they are using

If you want them to housekeeping or room cleaning, they surprise you by charging an extra $ 30 USD per day or per service
The receptionist, if you have one, is a person with zero knowledge of hotel services who simply answers 3 questions and if necessary, teaches you to open your room with a code because there is no key to access. You get the code thru internet

I still don't understand if it is a hotel. Or what, because it has being reserved by American Express as a luxury hotel. Either is not an Airbnb, but it pretend to be like they pretend to be like, with out kitchen.

My recommendation is that you do not be fooled, neither by the recommendation of American Express Travel Services, neither by the rating of "luxury hotel" on your own webpage, because it is not

Terrible! Terrible! Terrible! Stay away from this hotel. Don’t fall in the trap of lifestyle images that you see here on Google/Expedia or on hotel’s own website. There is nothing to be liked about this hotel other than the upscale location of Beverly Hills. Basic amenities that one expects in a hotel room is not available for instance shower caps or sanitary bags. If you go to front desk & ask for it - you will hear “oh sorry we don’t actually offer that but there is a rite aid just around the corner”. Be prepare to clean your room & make beds however long your stay is or you can pay $35 each day of your stay for room cleaning service. Even roadside motels would offer free room cleaning service everyday (upon request due to COVID restrictions) Room sizes are so small that you feel like you are living in a prison cell not in a hotel room. If free parking is included in your package then you are at the mersey of valet service guy to get you in-out of the garage. If you want valet guy to park your car then be prepare to pay him $30 + tip. We stayed here for 3 nights & it was not at all a great experience. Will never ever stay here again or recommend anyone either.

I don’t write hotel reviews ever, but I think this would be helpful to people visiting the LA area since it seems difficult to find a affordably priced hotel in a safe area. These are just things people should know, I am not complaining.
1). There is no real front desk staff. There is always a yellow sign saying that someone will be back shortly and if you can’t wait you can text or call the number provided. You also have the option to text or chat with someone through the Sonder app which I did, but each person who helped me had different answers.
2). If you like to bring food back to your hotel, there is no place to eat it in your room. We had one end table next to the bed.
3) There is no cable tv. You use this chromecast app on your phone and the Roku tv to stream it Wifi can be spotty at times.
4) no maid service
5). No free breakfast - there is a restaurant attached to the hotel , but they are not “associated” with the hotel as per the chef
6). Valet attendant is not very friendly nor helpful (at least the one we saw)
7). You have to walk to an alleyway to smoke
8). Can be noisy sometimes…you can hear the people on the second floor walking around.

I've been coming to the Crescent for about a decade, and was nervous about returning under new management. The good news is that I could still get my Itty Bitty room for under $200 in Beverly Hills (Itty Bitty because it can just about fit the bed, your suitcase and a closet with a safe in it) with a compact but comfortable bathroom. The staff was as it has ever been wonderful, friendly, helpful, faultless. The lounge is still available for sitting and working when you can't do it in your room, although it's a really popular place.
Negatives: First and foremost, there is no phone in the room. Worse, there is no way to contact the front desk except by walking up to it. The only phone number goes to a central number answered by ladies with strong accents. The restaurant, which used to be wonderful, is now a separate entity which has a limited menu that is really expensive (cheapest thing a $32 hamburger).
Still trying to decide about the fact that the room locks aren't keyed but punch coded. Nice to not have to worry about your key or card, but not wild about being out of my room that somebody else might have the code. The instructions on the website are also a bit vague so that you're not even sure anybody's at the desk(which you can't call). It ended up being a comfortable visit, but they might think more about the lapses.

We stayed for 8 nights and everything was great from start to finish. Check-in and check-out was super easy through the app. Staff were super friendly and location was easy to get Lyfts/Ubers to and from.

The room we stayed in was clean and there was a coffee machine and minibar available. They don't have housekeeping as they clean your room at the end of your stay however you can pick up supplies like coffee and tea at your own convenience from a cupboard in the common area. The only downside to the room we had on the ground floor was that the bins were right outside/close to our room window and it was quite loud whenever anyone went to the bins especially at night.

The only thing to note is be prepared to lug your luggage up a couple of stairs as there are no lifts available.

Overall, I would recommend staying at Sonder The Crescent!

I spend three nights at this hotel which was three nights too many. I could have spent $50 more a night to stay somewhere far better. The hotel was really unkept, the room was either hot and humid or freezing cold, there are no services available including housekeeping which is an additional charge. I travel monthly and stay in hotels over 30 times per year. I’ve never heard of a hotel charging extra for housekeeping. Trash accumulates in the hallways and no one picked it up for three days. The carpet in the hallways is visible dirty. I can only imagine how well they sanitize or clean the rooms between guests. I was told by the front desk attendant that the hotel is “more like an air bnb than a hotel” there is nothing online or in the booking confirmation that indicates that. The condition of the room was completely unacceptable from the mattress to the area outside my window which was used by the restaurant. I could hear glass bottles being thrown away in the dumpster and the loud noises of closing the kitchen until midnight. I will never stay here again, I’d be better off crashing on a friend’s couch that staying in this shamble ever again.

I used to stay at this hotel and loved it but now that Sonder has taken over, it’s pathetic. If you’re reading good reviews it’s from the earlier days. SONDER is a “no service” hotel. You have no way to call the desk, No phone service at the desk, you have no phone in the room for emergencies or to request towels or anything, no television, unless you bring apps on your phone. Ridiculous!
I didn’t rent a room, I was supposed to have service at a hotel. Awful, don’t stay there. Expensive and zero service. It’s a bring your own phone, bring your own TV, bring your own maid service… Hotel. Absurd!

Personally, I would call the Crescent Hotel with these questions (310-247-0505) but The Crescent Hotel is in the middle of Beverly Hills - not near the ocean (which is south of downtown LA.) Parking - nice doorman who will take your car & park it. Nearby lot. Of course, there is a fee for this. No hotel parking lot/self park Not aware of any shuttle - airport or otherwise but easy uber all over LA . This is not a big, commercial hotel. I am sure very nice & helpful staff would/could arrange any desired transportation. May be a spa but I never saw one.
