This is an excellent small and budget hotel in the heart of Berkeley. I've read quite a few reviews who said how great the staff were, and they were absolutely right! On my second day, I asked the owner for some extra towels, only to find out that he wanted to invite me to the family dinner with glass(es) of... More

Like staying in your best friend's cool aunt's old townhouse. Very clean, recently renovated old hotel building a couple blocks from downtown BART station with original architecture, new tiles and paint. Walls are thick so you don't hear much of your neighbors! Quirky mix of sturdy old practical furniture and pretty touches like enameled lamps, lidded porcelain coffee cups. Look... More

The whole area smells like a Chinese restaurant. The room was very noisy, walls are thin. Room should be renovated, for $150 I would expect higher quality. Really Close to Bart station at least, but streets are full of homeless ppl. Rather on a hostel level..but price of a 3* hotel.

When we drove up, we were a little startled at the entrance of the Nash Hotel and for someone who routinely stays at hotel chains the appearance initially had me a little concerned. We chose the Nash for the price and walking convenience to Cal and BART. The neighborhood feels like classic Berkeley but did not feel unsafe and is... More

I stayed in this hotel in between houses so my main aim was to be close to the campus where I was working. The manager in particular was very friendly. They helped me to store my stuff as well. The room was clean and the location was very convenient.

Very basic but clean and super friendly and accommodating staff. Very comfy king bed and pillows. You can open windows for fresh air but parking lot is noisy in the am. Greasy central location and bear good restaurants and Bart.

Spent 4 nights here. We chose it because all the other downtown hotels were quite expensive. It was a good choice. Hotel is basic, but clean. Staff are exceptionally nice. We had a room with a king bed and private bath but you can save money by getting a room with a shared bath. It had a TV, microwave, and... More

Nash Hotel has been nearly 100 years old, after one yare of renovation, this hotel in June 2014 re-opened with modern high-speed network, WIFI, new elevator, large flat-screen TV, room appliances, new fire safety and monitoring systems. But it still maintains the flavor of its original architecture. It's a great hotel!!!! A++++++

I stayed here basically because it's about half the price of other hotels in the area. It's not fancy; the towels and linen are not changed during your stay. The radiator and refrigerator are loud. But even given all that I would stay here again; it's clean and professional.

The best thing about this hotel is its location. It is close to the University, a block away from BART, a couple blocks away from Traders Joes, along a stretch of University Avenue that has great eateries (Turkish, Salvadoran, Tibetan) and lots of Tibetan stores. The worst thing is the traffic on University Avenue. We live in a noisy big... More
