Was very upset with everything the nasty workers the food and I was 3300 of hard-working money. I want my money back. The drinks were horrible never heard of the name. No brand name for liquor. Disgrace!
Hotel Riu Montego Bay Ironshore Excellent choice for our 50th. Anniversary 658092178 We have just returned from a very satisfying week stay at the Riu Montego Bay. We have stayed at two other Riu properties, the Riu Palace Riviera Maya and the Riu Emerald Bay in Mazatlan. This property most resembles the Riu Palace in its layout and ammenities so we were not surprised on many levels. What did surprise us was the high quality of entertainment by the professional dancers who doubled as the resort daytime entertainment pool and beach staff. The quality of their shows exceeded those on a Princess ship we were on in October for 28 days from Los Angeles to Sydney, Australia. The staff here were exceptionally friendly and engaging. Our room was clean and exactly what we had asked for....second floor in building 2 which has an elevator unlike some of the other buildings. Unfortunately, after three days our safe had a problem and would not program for closing. Our only disappointment was the quality of food in two of the three speciality restaurants...the Steak house which doubles as the lunch buffet venue and the Asian restaurant. The Italian restaurant was very good and exceeded our expectations. While the speciality restaurants open at 6:30 p.m.it is best to be available at 6:00 p.m. to get the first sitting as they do not take reservations and it is first come, first served. The bbq jerked chicken served every day on the beach is exceptional but if you are sensitive to spices this is not for you. While this property caters to families, the presence of many families with small children was not a deterrent to our enjoyment as seniors. The guests from the adjacent Riu Palace and Riu Reggae would walk through our site and comment that they would rather have chosen our property. This was our first time to stay in Jamaica so we were able to compare this property to others in Mexico, Dominican Republic, Cuba and Hawaii where we have also stayed. We are also seasoned cruisers having enjoyed 39 cruises so we felt we had a reasonable background to compare the quality of this resort. All in all it was a very enjoyable experience and we would not hesitate to recommend it to our friends.…
The stay was great , great shows , food was good ( steaks needed to be a bit better ) Jerk Chicken on the beach was awesome . Lots to drink , pool was great , swim up bar ( only bad thing was there were a few ladies with small children jumping in the pool beside bar , most people near these children were driven away from this area , I feel staff should have asked them to stop splashing or move out of bar area , this should be a place where they should be an adult , ladies you could not reason with , we also moved away but the children were allowed to run free with out parent supervision) . I would take another trip to Riu in a Heart beat .
This was the first trip that we every took somewhere warm. The hotel was great, we had to change rooms due to a musty smell but the front desk was awesome. They gave us a new room with no problems. Everyone on the resort was very friendly and welcoming. I would defiantly go again!
Food options after 10pm after BS. Not true 24 hour all inclusive. Opinions were nasty- popcorn without butter, nachos without cheese, muffins and sandwiches. They should really consider real food until atleast 2:30, since clubs close at 2am. Rooms could stand an update
