This Bed and Breakfast did not disappoint and far exceeded our expectations. We were welcomed warmly when we first arrived and our room, Celia's Garden, was spacious, clean and inviting. The room was tastefully decorated and the bed very comfortable. Tracy and Dennis paid attention to every detail and the bathroom was extremely clean and well stocked with soft towels, soaps and shampoos. The service was exceptional and we were made to feel at home. Breakfast was delivered to the room each morning with delicious pastries and coffee from the bistro located within the bed and breakfast. The courtyard with the water feature was a nice place to relax and enjoy a glass of and Italian wine purchased from the bistro. The bed and breakfast is located within walking distance to main street which features many restaurants and shops. While you are at the B&B you must try the Amore Bistro, more about that in a separate review of the bistro. Our next trip to Benicia to visit family will revolve around our ability to reserve a room at this lovely B&B.

My husband and I stayed at The Inn at Benicia Bay for several nights. The location is adjacent to the main street of the city and easy access to coffee shops, boutiques, the waterfront, restaurants and the yacht club. The room we stayed in was clean, roomy and comfortable. It featured the bedroom area, a sitting area with microwave, refrigerator, and coffee and tea maker. The bathroom had a jacuzzi, shower, double sinks and a sauna. The linens and towels furnished were thick and lush. Each morning a breakfast of fresh Italian baked goods, yogurt, juice and coffee and tea were delivered to the room. Tracee and her staff do a fine job provided an experience to make this a home away from home.

This is the place we shall go to again to get away and feel that we are cared for by owners of a small business that put an enormous amount of work into creating a positive experience consistently. As a small business owner I can appreciate the labor of love when I see it! Not only are the owners compassionate about creating a great experience, the location genuinely invites an expanded spectrum of culture in a very historic setting.
The walk to the pier and to variety of other small business, artists, culinary experience, water way observations await you all within a few blocks.
They have placed a priority on the safe practice of Mask wearing and infection control for my standards as a licensed Health Care Provider.
I have little time to get away but I will make the time to return here for that feeling of having every cell in my body feel as if the trip was well worth it!!!

The Inn at Benicia was one of the best B&Bs I’ve experienced. First, the location can’t be beat. It’s a short block or two to the water in either direction. Downtown is just steps away, yet the inn feels like another world.

I stayed in the Commodore’s room, a sunny and spacious well equipped comfortable room with seating, a large screen TV, and a roomy bathroom with an oversized tub. Everything was immaculate.

The inn itself is unique. On the west side is a beautiful garden patio with seating. It is so pretty that it is used for weddings. On the east side of the inn is the outdoor seating for the in house Italian restaurant, Amore Bistro. At the time of my visit the restaurant was serving lunch and dinner outside or inside in the cheery dining room. I invited my cousin over and we had a delightful lunch of authentic lasagna and a glass of wine. The restaurant owner is a delightful woman who greeted us warmly.

The innkeeper, Tracee, is congenial and helpful. Each morning she delivered a tray of a delicious cornetto and a latte to my door. The inn’s small lobby is tastefully decorated with comfortable seating and good light for reading or games.

I visit family in Benicia every few months. I’ve stayed at both hotels in town and the Shorelight Inn. Hands down I prefer The Inn at Benicia. I’ve already booked my return visit.

The Inn at Benicia Bay was a wonderful surprise find for a perfect, romantic getaway in October 2020! The home, furnishings and property are beautiful and the Owner/Innkeeper Tracee is so nice and very accommodating. We stayed in the Commandant Suite on the lower level of the property which has a dry sauna for two and a Jacuzzi jet tub for two. Was perfect after long days of adventures, very relaxing and romantic!
If you’re looking for a special occasion getaway in a beautiful setting you won’t be disappointed with the Inn at Benicia Bay! They also have a large garden/courtyard area that I enjoyed relaxing in for a couple of hours with a book and listening to the birds. It would be the perfect setting for a wedding or special occasion to celebrate.
Benicia Bay is a very charming waterfront town that we had never been to and look forward to visiting again. Friendly people, great shopping and restaurants and ideally located for day trips to Sonoma/Napa wine regions and Muir Woods National Monument.
Thanks Tracee for welcoming us to your lovely Inn Halloween weekend, we can’t wait to come back!

The area is beautiful and Tracee and Dennis are so welcoming that you will feel like family! The Italian bistro is so authentic and the coffee is absolutely perfect. I love the style of the themed rooms, lofted ceilings, hand-crafted soap, and sunny patios everywhere. Not to mention the most important part: a super comfortable extra large bed. This is a great idyllic inn and is located right downtown and by the harbor so you don't have to drive. I have come over and over and still look forward to the stay. I would love to have a family reunion here next year. It looks like it could be a great venue as well.

My stay at the Inn at Benicia Bay in the Commandant's Quarters for the night of Sunday 08/02/20 was beyond exceptional, and beyond anything I could have wished or hoped for. Tracee, the owner and hostess, is very warm and personable. Tracee also introduced us to Massimo who is working on the Amore Bistrot and gave us a behind the scenes peek of it and it is beautiful. The care she and her husband put into the Inn is apparent from the moment of arrival, and her love for the Inn and hospitality is inspiring. The Inn is immaculately clean inside and out. Treats, amenities and toiletries are thoughtfully placed and we had more than we could ever want. Complimentary extra coffee and delicious snacks were available in the parlour as well. The real luxury was the private en-suite dry sauna and jacuzzi, both of which functioned and smelled great and were a real treat to achey muscles. Thank you Tracee for defining true hospitality. We can't wait to return again and enjoy Amore next time!

We had a wonderful time at The Inn at Benicia Bay last weekend! Our room (called Casablanca) was cozy and inviting. There were special touches like 2 luggage stands, organic soap, and an extra blanket provided. All of the staff was warm and helpful. The town of Benicia is quaint. The hotel is within walking distance so it's easy to explore the shops and restaurants. Still, our favorite spot was the Cafe right downstairs at the Inn. The coffee was amazing! We ate at the Cafe several times as they have delicious, house made specials for breakfast and lunch. Our whole stay was relaxing, and we look forward to returning soon.

I recently officiated a wedding and stayed at the Inn at Benicia Bay. I want to convey my sincere gratitude for the wonderfully friendly team and hospitality that I experienced. Tracy and Dennis are first-class hosts and attentive to the guests and anyone visiting the Inn. They surround themselves with many others, including staff and caterers, who are particularly keen on making people happy. The location is also superb, walking distance to everything in this charming waterfront community. I highly recommend!

We spent a short one night in the Inn at Benicia Bay; a quick birthday getaway. The Commandant's room was lovely with many surprising amenities; sauna, double sinks in bathroom, spa bathtub. Even though it is downtown, it was very quiet and restful at night. The only drawback was the lack of a breakfast service at the inn. This will soon be remedied with a renovation that will provide a new kitchen for breakfast and for an authentic Italian restaurant on the site. We were given a breakfast gift card at a nice little place only a block away, and had a nice breakfast. We plan to return.

Hello, Thank you for your inquiry. The Orient Express is decorated in an Asian motif. It has a King size bed with an outside private patio. The room is large with an armoire, fridge/microwave, desk if you need to do some work etc. It is on the ground level just off of our courtyard. We look forward to your visit.
