This Inn is in such a great position between the Main Street with Bars Restaurants and the bay. Although close to everything it is so quiet. I was on business but would like to go back from a holiday stay. Only slight negative is check times are limited to a small window from something like 3pm to 6pm -- we arrive at 10.30pm which caused a few problems but a quick phone call and they got us sorted. The Inn has no dinning area so you will need to walk a short distance the their other property - no great problem. The bay area is nice and I had several early morning walks round the marina area. Parking is good by the Inn and main street you can just pull over and park but really eveything is in walking distance from the Inn.

I have stayed here several times in the last year or so. It’s quiet, the rooms are great and you can walk to some great restaurants. My favorite room is Celia’s Garden. My two favorite restaurants are Sailor Jacks and Bella Sienna.

We stayed in the Casablanca room. It is on the main floor and has it's own entrance. It is a large room, very clean and comfortable. There is plenty of room to spread out and relax. The TV and wifi worked without issue. However, there was no one at the property when we arrived. We called the number provided on the door to secure access. We also had to call back to learn the wifi password as it was not written down anywhere in the room. We also called back a third time to secure dinner suggestions and to find out about where and when to get breakfast in the morning. Not having someone on site to answer questions was a nuisance. But the place was great! They own a second property about 2 1/2 blocks away. That is where breakfast is served. It is continental but it is huge! One of the best continental breakfasts we've ever been served. Ann was there. She was busy chatting with folks who frequent the properties so we didn't talk with her. She did help folks who interrupted her conversation but it was a bit awkward. Now that we know the ropes we'd probably stay again.

No complaints about the room at all. Very nice. But when I entered the office to check in, there was no one there so I waited. Finally I called the number and the person, Ann, I think said they ask that we call ahead of we're going to be earlier than the 3 o'clock check in. I was never told that and it was 2:45 when I got there! So, the room wasn't ready yet. Who waits until check in time to get the rooms ready? So I only had to wait 15 or so minutes til it was done and I could check in. Was never given any information about breakfast and didn't think to ask. So needless to say, we got no breakfast. Probably would not stay here again considering it cost $180!

Hello, We apologize for your inconvenience. We do ask that one call us 30 minutes prior to their arrival so as not to incur these types of problems. I'm sure your room was ready by 3 pm, just that no one was not there to check you in at 2:45 pm when you arrived. As far as breakfast, I do believe it does say on our website and reservation confirmation acknowledgements that breakfast is served at our sister property, The Shorelight Inn. I again apologize if this was not made clear to you as this is also mentioned upon check in and is printed on our invoice that is given to you at check in. Cheers! The Inn at Benicia Bay

I stayed here on business for one night, as my usual chain hotel was overpriced for July and staying here would save my company $65! My business meeting was only a block away at the Benicia Yacht Club, so this location was perfect. Knowing I'd need to check in late (after 9pm), Ann was great and left my keys in my room for me. I ended up arriving closer to 10pm, and everything was perfect. The light was left on for me, the room was the perfect temp, and I felt like I had just walked into a comfy home. The next morning after exiting the shower, I realized there was no hair dryer! I immediately called the front, and Ann had her granddaughter bring me her own personal dryer so I could finish getting ready and get to my morning meeting. (We think the previous guest took the dryer!) I really prefer staying in B&Bs where the service is more personal, the rooms are much larger and "homey", and the Inn at Benicia Bay fit the bill! I'll be back!
