This new resort is a 5 star establishment and the house reef is probably the best on the island. The food is gastronomic and the staff is extremely friendly, helpful and willing to share their knowledge of Indonesia. The diving is a mix of reef and muck diving in 82F warm water. Our guide Yap was excellent and had a good eye in finding the best photo ops. This is truly valet diving with first class service. Special thanks to Raymond, Ranny, Wendy, Juan, Yap for making our stay most enjoyable.

Really enjoyed all aspects of our stay here. The staff were all great - very kind and attentive. The manager, Thomas was really helpful and approachable. The dive guide and boatmen made the diving stress free and all about the diving (e.g. Rudy). The ladies in the restaurant definitely deserve a special mention - they were fantastic and the food was plentiful and very good. Unlike literally everyone else there, we stayed in a standard room - I think that we were the first people ever to stay in the standard rooms (just built). Quite simple accommodation, fan only, but if you are on a bit more of a budget, then I think it is a good choice. Not as private a space as the bungalows though, if that bothers you. Have to mention the house reef - it really was a peach of a house reef. I did a night dive on it and I can honestly say that it was absolutely brilliant. Lots of life and thoroughly enjoyable. Diving around Bangka was a good mix of muck and corals. For me Lembeh definitely pips Bangka for muck diving, but if you want corals as well and also want a really beautiful setting, then this resort is well worth a go. I will be back in the future!

My wife and I stayed and dived in Bangka during the October National Holiday in China. The diving is second to none, so diverse ! The resort and staff were both excellent, food was incredible and different every day over 8 days. Could not recommend highly enough, thanks to the whole team !

After spending a few days at Bastianos on Bunaken, I decided to try the resort on Bangka. The resort itself is REALLY nice, brand new. The meals were great, the resort and dive staff were very friendly. I'm planning on going back next year and spending time at all three of their resorts.

We just finished our two days of diving from Bastiano's Bangka Dive Resort. We did 6 out of our 17-dive package. So far, we've had an awesome experience but I wanted to at least leave a review of this resort before we move to their Lembeh resort. First, there are definitely from the what I can see probably 4 staff to a guest at the moment (8-10 guests for each of the days we’ve been here). The service is very attentive for both the dive staff and the resort staff. Hotel is less than a year old so everything is still quite new (to the point where some of the buildings are still being built for their own operations). Food is buffet style set between specific times – basically around the dive times with a good amount of rest time in between. They have a bar on site, and the pool is gorgeous, and the restaurant and camera room is also quite big (probably because it wasn’t too busy when we were there). I took a photography course with them, which was done by Barney – who’s also a marine biologist originally from Germany, which was great given that he knew exactly what each of the creatures were and their anatomy and animal behavior. He gave me loads of tips – based on his own experience and preference. We spent the evenings looking at the camera so that he knows the ins/outs of it and then post dives, we’d look at the photos and he’d suggest how I would set the camera settings as well as the composition of the photos. I have to say Barney was great and I’m so glad I spent the extra money learning how to use a new camera / camera rig – money well spent. Thank you “Steve Zissou / Bill Murray” look alike! Also thanks to Charlie for being such a hospitable staff member always chatting us up and helping us with our equipment, as well as Windy at the restaurant for being so attentive. Would definitely come back to this resort… Only feedback is to see if the WIFI can be expanded a bit - at least to the restaurant and pool area and not off of a tethered phone...
