I was here only for one night on business. I had requested an upper floor away from noise, and the staff made certain to pick an appropriate room despite being fully booked. Check-in was a little slow, but the staff was friendly.

Never had a problem in Bakersfield. In fact this particular Residence Inn is a delight! We left a couple of electronic devices in our room, and even several days later, when we figured out where we left them, they were returned to us with no problem. There are some areas toward the east end of town where we were uncomfortable about getting out of the car, but had no problems. The area s close to the hotel are not suitable for walking, not because of any crime issues, but just that it is a business/light industrial area with no clear walking areas. If you are looking for a place to walk, there is a kind of lake/pond along the Kern River and Truxton Avenue (where Truxton Plaza meets Truxton Avenue) that our friend who lives in Bakersfield walks by herself.

They say it is because they do special cleaning and they "bomb" the room after each guest with a pet. My stay was paid by insurance. Had I known this, I would not have given such a favorable review. I've stayed many places with my dog and have never heard of anything so ridiculously excessive.
