Detailed Reviews
Good location. That’s it. Absolute crap hotel. Horrid beds and pillows. Got a smoking room that I never requested. Could barely breathe. Checkin was handled from behind a plate glass window like in a prison. That should have been my first clue as I checked in. Damn you Hotels.com! Bathroom and shower area looked disgusting and didn’t even want to take a shower or even use the restroom while I was there. Very dirty looking and just an absolute nightmare. I guess for $50 I expected a little bit more like a super 8 but this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Don’t waste one penny here. And, there us a raceway nearby that literally shook the entire motel on Saturday night.

I’m here now at the sunset inn hotel on 300 M L king rd in west Memphis the rooms are nasty, the front desk lady attitude is very nasty. This is my second encounter with this lady and she really needs to be fired. The rooms are gross no cups no ice bucket no blanket for the bed. The floors are wet microwave and the Refridge are filthy. This place should be shut down immediately that lady that works the front Desk at night has a very very mean attitude and it stinks bad I have nothing nice too say about this place and I will be leaving this dump ….bathroom smells like straight piss can’t do another night here

The front desk people were nice. But the room was horrible. I’ve never felt so gross. There was hair everywhere. The sheets and comforter were stained and gross. The towels had hair randomly mixed in them. The bathroom looked like it had rarely ever seen a good cleaning.

Place was well kept, clean and maintained. Looks like it has been remodeled recently. TV, fridge, microwave, hair drayer, conditioning all in working condition. Very friendly staff. They offer special rates for Pilot car drivers, and located by all major truck stops. Highly recommended

I give this hotel 4 stars based on the fact it was under $50 total, tax included. I would give it 5 except for some minor maintenance points ... broken glass in the photo over the desk; a tissue stuck in the peep hole on the door, and noticeable patchwork on the walls. Otherwise, the place was in good repair, especially given its price range. One note: I was given a "smoking" room (which did not smell like one. Neither was it overpowered with air freshener!) but there were no ash trays.
It was clean, the bedding was nice. There was laminate floors, a fridge (already cold), microwave, flat screen tv, and excellent wifi.
For a tired traveler that just wants a bed & shower, it was great!

I have stayed there several and it's close to the truckstops where I connect with the drivers. They have wifi, tv with cable, good bathroom facalities and they keep the place clean, the room is not large, but the bed is comfortable and bug-free, which works for me

My wife and I stayed one night at the Sunset Inn, 300 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, West Memphis, AR 72301 on August 22 – 23, 2023. This was our first stay at this motel, and it definitely will be our last!
The first problem was with our check-in. The motel employee was in an enclosed room where you had to talk through a metal grated speaker system. The employee appeared to be fearful of his customers. We booked our one-night stay through HOTELS.COM. Our booking sheet showed a one-night stay would cost $44.99 plus $6.63 taxes, for a total of $51.62.
When I entered the check-in room, there was a hand-written sign on the glass window that said: “CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS WILL BE CHARGED $3.25”. Nothing on HOTELS.COM mentioned this charge. When I complained to the clerk, he told me I had no choice but to pay it. ($3.25 is a 6.3% markup of $51.62.) This is simply a way to disguise the TRUE price of the room!
Our next two problems were once we got to our room. We discovered that half of the door safety latch was missing, so there was no way to use it.
Next, we looked up at the ceiling and discovered the smoke detector mount ring was in the ceiling, but the smoke detector was missing!

+1
Disgusting dump. It’s 2017 and you can’t even clean the rooms?? Stunk like cigarettes, greasy surfaces, hair and cigarette burns all over bedding. Not even a toilet paper holder? I feel like I woke up in a crack house.
