Hotel's Favorite
My wife and I as well as my close friend and his wife went to Ocean El Faro for a baby moon/vacation. We used Orbitz to book an all inclusive, Privilege Junior suite which included a rooftop hot tub and massive two story room. This was our first resort, and we absolutely loved it. There are a lot of reviews regarding a sales pitch, and being nagged. It is not that bad and we didnt even go. It no different than going to Jamaica or St Thomas and the resorts (white shirts) are selling you something or the vendors are selling you something. Be very kind, and decline the offers and move on. Sergio was our white shirt and was adamant about making sure we were taken care of. We ended up just working with our assigned resort person Jose Miguel for the rest of the trip. The process from airport to resort was very simple. We booked through DAT, a Suburban which came fully loaded and a very sharp driver and assistant. We tipped 5 dollars for them taking care of our bags and 10 to the driver. The driver had a cooler full of drinks and waters for us and an ipad for music. Once we made it to the resort it was heaven! Jose Miguel was a champion and made our stay perfect. We could not have asked for a better professional to take care of us. We were checked in and given our welcome package, our dinner was scheduled as well and then we were carted to our room with a little tour on the way. Every single day, Jose Miguel made it a point to take care of us and treat us like family. He would help us refill the mini fridge, towels, reservations, etc. Without Jose Miguel this trip wouldn't have been as memorable, he made it feel like home. Thank you for booking all our reservations and transportation as well as assisting with the excursion process! You made this trip 100/100 brother! We chose to do couple hot stone massages and facials and loved the experience, it was just what we needed to relax. We also had Emilio take photos of us on two separate days. Ask for EMILIO!!!! His photography skills and planning are incredible, he speaks 3 languages and is so much fun! God bless you Emilio! For the restaurants, they could use some work but overall no complaints. The food was always cooked great and the flavors excellent. Just be prepared to not get in if you don't book reservations in advance, this is a must unfortunately. Thank you Raphael for taking such good care of us at multiple restaurants. The best restaurants to book are Steakhouse, Italian and Sakura, very very good! For the bars and pools, its pretty much a perfect resort. Tons of entertainment going on, sports activities, lazy river and game shows. Juan on Privilege beach ran all our drinks and took care of the ladies while the boys went out to swim and play some of the sports games going on around the beach and pools. Thank you Juan from Privilege Beach, you made it perfect! Overall, we will definitely be coming back, the staff make this place and if you talk to them and treat them kindly they go above and beyond for you. Thank you so much everyone! We had an excellent buster, LUISANDER for privilege members. He has been right on the mark with everything we could need. He is very well spoken, friendly, very knowledgeable & responds to every message with promptness. He initiated a message every morning, asking how we were, if we needed anything. I cannot say enough! Great experience!! This was our 5th time back to the DR and brought the kids for the first time. Great place for kids and lots of entertainment. The nightly shows could have been better, have seen much better at other resorts. There was a lack of service around the pool and you need to be prepared to be patient when requesting thin in restaurants. Food was okay, we did order the lobster dinner ($$$ no included) and wish someone would have told us one plate serves 2. I recommended upgrading to privilege, Joel was amazing and we never had to worry about dinner plans. He took care of everything! I would go back though, it was worth it. Looking at the Jamaica resorts for next year! Ps you can skip the sales meeting they try and get you into, we just filled out the paperwork as LOW as possible and they let us leave immediately. …

With mobility issues I found the little buses were very handy. Love the lazy river and spent a lot of time on it. Never had any issues with the food and the lighthouse restaurant was my favourite. The buffet was busy all the time and finding a place to sit could be difficult. Beach was clean until you leave the resort to swim in the lagoon next door. Hotel helped set up excursions and we enjoyed the tours.

Resort was above and beyond our expectations. Best restaurants I’ve ever had on a resort ever!!! Best meat I’ve ever had ANYWHERE! Easily one of (if not the best) all inclusive I’ve ever been to (and I got married on a much more expensive stunning resort so that should say a lot)

it was awesome!!! the kids and i had a blast! the mosquitos had us a little worried but the resort was amazing. the excursions were a little pricey not worth it in my opinion but the resort on its own was money well spent! definately looking forward to going again.
