My husband and I just returned home from our 1st visit to The Valentin Imperial and what can I say we were blown away!!! This resort is absolutely breath taking and the staff is extremely friendly!! We stayed in a Silver Superior Junior King Suite in building 1. The room was absolutely beautiful and I loved the location as it was near the restaurants and only a 2-3 minute walk to the main pool. The staff is very friendly and they go above and beyond to make your stay amazing!! Sonia at the Earth Bar is amazing! She makes the best drinks and is always very friendly!! Paulina and Lizeth at the main pool are wonderful waitresses and kept the drinks coming all day long!! The food truck at the pool is the bomb!! Definitely give it a try!! The Go Team at the pool were exceptional!!! They always had fun activities throughout the day to keep us entertained!! Jesus, sexy Lorenzo, and Bryan were our favorites!! There is a daily journal posted daily on the TV or by the elevators in your building stating the activities for the day and what restaurant is closed that day. Very helpful for planning your day. The restaurants were also great!! The Ginger restaurant is the only one you need to make a reservation for if you want the whole hibachi experience. You need to make the reservation with your concierge by 9am the day you wish to eat there. It was really delicious!! The French restaurant atmosphere is amazing and the food is delicious also!! Highly recommend the Sea Bass, so yummy! The Taman Sari (Japanese) restaurant was surprisingly our favorite!! The Pad Thai is amazing!!! Make sure to ask for the secret desert box! The La Hacienda (Mexican) is another favorite, sit outside at night It's very beautiful!! The Mar Tierra down by the beach is amazing too. We had breakfast there one morning and ate supper there once at night. We usually ate breakfast at the Le Marche. It's a buffet with so many options you'll never walk away hungry!!! Make sure to order room service!! Chicken fajitas and the chips with guacamole are the best!!! This property is one of the most tropical feel resorts we have ever been too!! We loved walking the paths and looking at all of the tropical flowers. They work hard to keep everything looking absolutely beautiful! The resort is even more beautiful at night when the flower gardens and the pools are lit up and there is always music playing as you walk through the resort!! We loved the nightly entertainment at the Plaza every night especially the Imperial Band!! Make sure to enjoy a churro or 2 every night!! So yummy!! My only disappointment was the beach but that has nothing to do with the resort. Hurricane Grace came through just 3 weeks before we arrived and did extensive damage but the staff work very hard and at least the beach was open when we were there but there was a lot of sea weed almost everyday. We did visit the beach almost daily but didn't spend a lot of time there. One of the best parts of this vacation was meeting new people and making new friends!!! I would highly recommend visiting this resort!! We will definitely be back soon!!!…
This resort is the absolute BEST! Their staff has a culture all of its own and treats everyone like royalty. The always over exceed expectations and we never wanted to leave. We have been to Hawaii and the Bahamas and Mexico was our favorite. There is no need to stay anywhere else. We made friends with some of the visitors and the STAFF. MARCOS was our favorite! We are now friends on Facebook. We plan to return in January! MOST AMAZING VACATION TO DATE!
Amazing environment and very nicely and authentically arranged everywhere. Pleasant and good service on the beach. The sea is wavy and we liked it. The food is good and I especially enjoyed the freshly squeezed juice of various fruits for breakfast. I really enjoyed the other square pool with warm water too. There are few people there and there is peace for those who want to be alone and enjoy on vocations. Everyone's needs are met. I would come back here again only i would choose another room that wouldn’t be so wet and should not smell of mold. There really is a good choice and I will find out more details next time. This hotel has left a nice impression overall.
I wanted to surprise my daughter and husband for a special dinner on their anniversary and Fernando went above and beyond to make it perfect. He was so easy to work with and made them feel extremely special on their very special day even after having a hurricane and the beach was closed for their dinner they did French and were treated like royalty. If you need any help there contact Fernando!!!
Rooms- 3 stars The hotel didn’t offer many room categories, and offered nothing outstanding , but Our rooms were very clean and smelled nice. We could have used more than 3 draws, but made it work. The Balcony was very small. Beds were very comfortable , mini frig stayed stocked, rooms was cleaned twice a day which included turn down service. I was extremely happy to see a garment steamer in the room. Activities/entertainment-3 stars We felt this hotel was lacking in entertainment and activities. All theatre shows were cancelled due to Covid. Other activities were cancelled due to rain rather than moving the activities to a dry spot. The live music around the pool, in restaurants, and at night were very good. The hotel needs to offer more crafts, board games, beach entertainment and culinary classes. Pool/Beach - 3 stars The pool was magnificent! That is where we spent all our free time. There was some black mold in the tile grout of the pool that needed to be addressed. We never visited the Golden pool with the lazy river. The Beach wasn’t good for swimming. Water was unclear, rough and full of seaweed. I’m sure it was due to the time of the year and couldn’t be helped. Grounds/Staff -5 stars The best thing about this Hotel was the wonderful staff. The premises had very romantic walking paths. Golf cart rides were also offered for anyone not wanting to walk to their destinations. Restaurants/Bars -4 1/2 stars The restaurants were top notch. If you enjoy Gourmet, then this is the place for you. The Buffet was the best I have ever seen. Everything was good with the exception of the Lasagna at the Italian restaurant. The meat in it wasn’t palatable. I suppose it was sausage that was hard to chew. Our favorite was the French restaurant. We ate there 3 times and truly enjoyed the Cello player there.. The Cons were no food carts the week we were there, and no coffee shop. This is one of the deal breakers for me. I don’t understand why they don’t have a coffee and bakery. The bars were all special in their own way. The best drinks were at Don Miguels and the exotic drinks at the Indonesia restaurant. Only strange thing is we couldn’t get a good Margarita anywhere. Privilege Club -3 stars Overpriced! The Bali Beds were right in the sun and when it rained (which was our 1st 4 days) we couldn’t use them at all. It was a nice perk to have RSVP for restaurants, but didn’t seem anyone had to wait without reservations. We only wanted the Included Lobster twice, then were tired of it. We weren’t drinkers, so the prime liquor didn’t matter to us. Private check in was nice, but the normal check in also looked nice. We regretted spending the extra money for the privilege package and would not do it again. If the resort had been at full capacity it might have been a different story. Overall- this is a beautiful , pristine and romantic resort with wonderful food. If you want a quiet place to relax with great service and pampering, then this is the perfect place for you. If you prefer a more active resort with more entertainment, then look elsewhere.…
