Parklife Hostal is a hostel that has opened its doors in May 2011 in the very center of colonial Popayan, Colombia. Our concept of accommodation is based on comfort, good music and a good service. Park Life is the perfect place to sit around a table with your new found friends and a good cup of Colombian coffee. The comfort and the spaciousness of our common areas turn Parklife into a favorite place for the "adventurers" that decide to come to Colombia. Getting to Park Life hostel is easy, very easy. You only have to ask for the Central Park which in Popayan is called Parque Caldas or the Cathedral. In fact it is a nice 12-15 minutes walk from the bus station.

This was an amazing hostel, it is located in the centre of Popayan, overlooking the Parque Caldas and actually physically attached to the Cathedral. It is very clean, the rooms are spacious, they have an amazing film collection (Cheers for the films Borja :D) and the two hosts Borja and Luiza are the two most friendly and helpful hostel owners that we have come across in 4 months of travelling in South America. They recommended some excellent restaurants, as well as having loads of information about things to do in the surrounding area and a great deal of info about local cuisine that is a must try. They both spoke perfect English and could even help us ignorant Scots with a few Spanish phrases. The common rooms were bright, the chairs were comfortable and they provided towels for the hot showers. Highly recommend Parklife Hostel and Popayan, its a wee gem. Thanks Guys, Zach & Eilidh

We were planning on staying at Hostel Trail but as they were full they recommended this hostel and we are so greatful. The owner met us at the door, carried my bags to our room and made us feel instantly at home. He told us to just relax and take our time with checking in which was really nice as he could tell that we were weary from our travels. The dormitory was the most spacious I have ever stayed in. The location is beautiful with a view of the church from the kitchen. They have nice chill out music playing throughout the day which makes for a relaxing atmosphere. There is a different movie shown every night in their specially created movie room and extensive information on the hall walls and from the owners about what to do in and around Popayan.

My friend and I stayed at Borja and Louisa's beautiful hostel for a few days in June and everyday we felt like we were at home! Borja and Louisa are funny and they will laugh at your jokes too. Also the hostel is so pretty and the purple bathroom might be my favourite bathroom ever.

This hostel in new one, but super nice with its great view from the common area! The owner seems like experienced travellers with great passion to inform the travellers. Just locate the catheral and everything is kind of close to the downtown. Fast internet connection, guest kitchen! Has great protenial in the future!

Luiza and Borje are great hosts, knowledgeable about Popayan and the trips around the area and also about places to stay further afield as they have already done the traveling bit. We stayed a week and when we left felt like we were saying goodbye to family. The hostel is right next to the cathedral on Parque Caldas, it's a pedestrian area so there's no traffic noise, only the pigeons waking you in the morning. The rooms fronting the Parque are airy, light and clean; there are also two dorm rooms and a great size kitchen where everyone seems to gather in the evening for a chat while cooking.
This is a great new hostel, we're hopefully returning again next year.

Lovely building, unbelievable location on the plaza, very helpful friendly owners who have clearly travelled themselves and know what other travellers want in a hostel, lots of useful information on things to do in the area and onward to travel. Really nice open plan kitchen, communal area with great music playing during the day and if you are lucky enough to get the private room on the corner you get amazing views of the plaza and the church next door. I liked it so much I came back before heading to Ecuador!

Newly established but with careful attention to traveller needs, ParkLife hostel offers well-sized dorms with ensuite bathrooms. The location is outstanding, right on the town's central plaza, the communal areas are light and spacious. Ongoing work is going on to develop Borja and Luiza's ideal hostel but where they really stand out is in their super-friendly, informative advice. Nothing is too much trouble. Makes every difference.
