A paradise tucked conveniently behind a tiny airport. We had the Barranquero suite with balcony over the garden and strongly recommend it. Food was excellent, with perfect relaxed breakfast in front of the hacienda looking out to the mountains. For those interested in birding this is a good base. The garden is full of colourful species, including hummers at feeders,...

Stayed here for three nights, which we felt was about the right length of time. We were in a junior suite, on the second floor. These rooms may be more expensive, but I would definitely recommend them. This hotel has only eight rooms, so the service is very personal, it's in the middle of an estate, so it is very...

WE spent 4 day in this relaxing, charming small hotel. We had a stander room which was fine. Service is exceptional and very personal. Everyone says hello and your name. One of the managers, Alejandro was one of the most personable, friendly people I have ever encountered. Food is excellent although we never tried anything other than each night's chef's...

Hacienda Bambusa is a very romantic place. Built mostly from bamboo growing in the region and situated in the middle of banana and cocoa plantations, it offers an authentic country feeling without being cheesy. The service is very friendly and the cooking is solid. The only major drawback: the walls are not really soundproof. Watch out for the room close...

Perhaps you've stayed at places where you felt pampered. And, while the pampering might have been good, the kind of attention you're going to get at Hacienda Bambusa is the stuff travel dreams are made of. The staff goes out of their way to meet your every need...and some you didn't think of because they thought of it first! The...

Small and very personal hacienda. Garden and surroundings are a real paradise. Rooms are tastefully furnished but probably you will only use them for sleeping as sitting in the balcony, the patio or the garden or lying in the hammock or by the pool seem to be the options of choice. They can organize everything from a car to fully...

We loved our stay at Hacienda Bambusa. The setting was breathtaking and the staff couldn't have been more helpful and kind. They went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. Since I'm a pescaterian, they make a point to create a special menu for me which was delicious. Our whole stay was a perfect respite from the...

Stephen- Thank you so much for your review, we are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay at Hacienda Bambusa. Loved your comment "Our whole stay was a perfect respite from the frenetic nature of Cartagena" as it is so true! Cartagena is worth a visit for everyone coming to Colombia, but people don't realize how hot, humid and frenetic...

I stayed here for a few nights in October for the second time and I can't say enough nice things about the hacienda and its staff. The food was excellent and reasonably priced considering that the hacienda is isolated and the only place to eat within 30 minutes. We arranged our own excursion and airport transportation but did pay the...

Other Trip Advisor reviews are quite correct. Set in lush gardens with fantastic views of the green mountains in the distance. Our room on the ground floor was all you could wish for from a comfort point of view. No door keys necessary and none provided as totally safe and tranquil. Food of the highest quality; the gentleman cook in...

Hi James- Thank you so much for sharing your appreciation of Bambusa with the tripadvisor community. I just wanted to clarify here that although we do not have keys for the individual rooms (it's just how these old country houses were built and a local custom) there are safe deposit boxes in every room and the doors can be locked...

We stayed there 4 nights after 3 nights in Amazonia and that was really fantastic. The hacienda is very nice with great staff (special mention to Alejandro) You feel at home, don't even have a key for your room. The surroundings are beautiful with flowers, birds, coffee, cacao, bananas, oranges, mango...all what you need The breakfast is great with nice...

Thank you very much for sharing your experience at Hacienda Bambusa. Sorry you were not aware at first that we have a regular al a carte menu available in addition to the nightly chef's tasting menu. I am going to address this with all restaurant staff now to ensure it does not happen again. We certainly agree that this is...
