While on a tour of the Sacred Valley in Peru near Cusco, our guide suggested we stop for lunch here. As it was time, and I was getting both hungry and thirsty, we did I'm glad we did. It was not very busy (which always concerns me) but based on its relative obscure location, I guess it makes sense. Regardless, a couple standard Peruvian meals later, and my new favourite dark beer, and we were quite pleased we stopped in. If you are ever in the area, looking for a decent meal at a reasonable price, by all means, pop in.

With a beautiful garden and a very real character to it, the first impression met the high expectations for this hotel. Unfortunately during our brief one night stay we found the restaurant closed, the place run by very keen and helpful Jonathan as a one man show, which meant despite all his effort and good intentions, not quite at the level you would expect for an 88USD.. Add that Internet was not working and we were left with a very expensive one night stay... I believe we just got there at the wrong time, however that could have been managed better...

We love our stay at the Casa de Barro. The rooms were extremely clean and comfortable, Antonio and his Family were extremely attentive to every detail. Breakfast is one of the best I had in the Urubamba Valley. Great place to stay and go around all the valley sights. Many places to visit and do treks. I will stay again here every time I am in the area!

We stayed at La Casa de Barro in September for a week and were happy with the ambiance, service, food and everything about this place! The rooms are beautifully decorated, the property is beautiful and well-cared for and the staff was very helpful. Breakfast was included in our room rate and was great. We also ate most of our dinners here - a nice variety, fresh meals and a relaxing atmosphere. If you stay here, go outside in the yard at night and look up - there is so little light pollution in Chinchero that you can see galaxies (we saw Andromeda in addition to the Milky Way) and so many stars!! The yard is a great place for yoga or stretching and if you are lucky, you can look up and see the occasional eagle or hawk flying by! If you are visiting for tourism, be sure to take
