This is a lovely old set of log cabins set on a small peninsula jutting into Lake of Two Rivers. it has a small private beach, canoes with each cabin, comfortable cabins (NO TV--thank goodness!), fine food and excellent service. Amenities include a common room with plentiful coffee, tea and too sweet biscuits plus books, lounge are/ And, the little... More

Oh my goodness, what a little slice of heaven this place is!!!! Beautiful part of the park - set on the side of the lake. Wonderful Log cabins with verandas overlooking the water. So cosy. Big room with big, comfortable beds; beautiful white sheets and plump pillows. There are no televisions or wi-fi in the cabins but hey, who wants... More

Two Canadian grandparents and their 20 something grandson from overseas headed north from Toronto to show the young man "typical Canadian landscape". We had no idea how beautiful the site of this lodge is. Yes, it is very expensive, but the staff, comfort of accommodations, meals are spectacular. After a very busy family occasion where people came from many countries,... More

Good of you to bring your grandson up north to show him the wilderness that so many overseas visitors imagine of Canada and want to see. It's amazing that only 3 1/2 hours north of Toronto you can find an area like Algonquin Park. That is why we have so many guests from the U.S. and overseas stay with us... More

We were travelling with our Canadian friends, none of us had been to Algonquin before. We choose the lodge as it seemed so idyllic and that was what it was. From the moment we checked in, until the moment we left 4 days later, nothing was too much bother. We felt like members of their extended family. The cottage lodges... More

Thank you for characterizing the lodge as idyllic and saying that as guests you felt like members of our extended family. We often like to say that our entire staff is like a big family. Most have worked here at least 10+ years, another core some 25+ years, and some even 30+ years. Theresa and Elaine in the kitchen have... More

We went to Killarney Lodge on short notice for a quick get away after a busy summer and we were not disappointed. From the food, to the staff, to the accomodations everything was 5 star and beyond. Our cabin was close to highway 60 but the road noise was not a problem as someone previously complained about. The beach was... More

Wow. Thank you for your rave review. Delighted to hear you say that everything was 5-star and that you were not disappointed with your visit! Thank you in particular for pointing out that, even though you were close, "road noise was not a problem." We do get the odd review commenting on noise ... but they are so unrepresentative of... Our family had a wonderful stay. We had a great cabin on the point which was very private. There was so much delicious food we couldn't eat it all. The staff were great. The canoes they provide are top quality and lightweight. Nothing to complain about - even the weather was fantastic. Really hot all day and nice cool breeze... More

We chose this lodge of great repute for the annual 36 hour summer vacation with my family of 5. We arrived with high expectations and knew immediately we had made the right choice. The only ripple was a chilly wave of disdain from my family as if to say "Why didn't you bring us here before?" We relaxed and felt... More

In the middle of Algonguin park we soaked up nature while dining on fine food expertly prepared in the pleasant log dining room where courteous and friendly service enhanced the experience. We attended an interesting nature talk in the warm and inviting common room where 30 guests from 6 different countries enjoyed the presentation before returning to our log cabin,... More

Hello "Paul M" and thank you very much for your review. It was so nice to receive it ... especially after the rather unrepresentative one just prior to yours. Your comments represent overwhelmingly the feedback that we get from the vast majority of our guests. We in particular appreciate your compliments about the courteous and friendly service and about the... More

The lodge is not at all as suggested in their Web site. The domain is actually quite small, the cabins are close to each other, and very close to the highway 60, which is very, very noisy. Do not expect to find there the quiet atmosphere of the Algonquin park which is suggested by the picture of the Web site!

We thank you for your comments but are at a loss as to how to reply. Killarney Lodge has had 27 reviews since opening for the season this May. Twenty-two of them are 5-star, four are 4-star ... and then there is yours? Somehow your described experience is vastly different from theirs ... and we don't know what to say.... More

We were lucky enough to stay in Killarney Lodge in Algonquin National Park at the beginning of August. This is ia truly relaxing break. There is a limited wifi connection in one area of the lodge and no televisions or radios in the cabins. This is ideal as it all helps to make you relax and get away from the... More
