It was so nice to get back in touch with the great outdoors...it was nice to unplug my cell phone and tv with all the activities and scenery the area provided I never missed them. What I was impressed with the most is how Robyn transformed the lodge into a self sustaining eco environment utilizing nature as a renewable source... More

New to this kind of experience, we were warmly welcomed into the Eco-Lodge by the owner and his employees. The compound lies in a remote place deep into the Algonquin woods, next to a beautifull lake. We could enjoy hiking with the guides learning about the forest lifecycle and history, as well as coming across animals trails. After the day,... More

Great stay, really interesting place - communal meals with other guests, outside river stream to cool your beverages, and a hot tub powered by a waterfall! We took the canoes out for the day and enjoyed paddling around with short portages required. Great showers and communal space. Note: there is a dog there if that's an issue for you.

In many ways Algonquin Eco Lodge is outstanding. It is beautiful. The lake blew my mind. With the Fall leaves it was stunning in the sunshine, the twilight, the mist, or at any time. The lodge itself is rustic and fits perfectly in the environment. There is a log fire inside which is lovely to warm yourself by. The rooms... More

We spent 5 days at the Algonquin Eco-Lodge on their volunteer program this September and had a fantastic stay. Our work tasks included stacking firewood, helping out with deck repairs, cooking and serving meals, and doing the dishes. It was fun to see how the lodge functioned from the inside-out, and Robin did a great job balancing our tasks with... More

A friend and I stayed at the Eco-Lodge in mid-late May this year. We did two days as an "Eco-Warrior" followed by the four day "voyaguer". The Eco-warrior is an offer of half price, in return for some work. They had a very casual approach to the idea of us actually doing the work, but we helped them take some... More

If you're into the wilderness and life off the grid, this is the place. You'll eat well. You'll sleep well. And you'll be in the middle of one of the world's greatest wilderness areas. Lots to do, but if you just want to sit and enjoy the peace of your surroundings, you can do that too. Getting to the lodge... More

We had to change our plans since the eco-lodge, two weeks before we were to arrive, sent an email telling us that they would be closed one of our dates and asking us to change our dates. Since the rest of the vacation was booked (and in some places non-refundable) we had to skip the eco-lodge and scramble to find... More

I'm sorry that your vacation plans were inconvenienced, and that you did not actually stay at the Eco-Lodge. We had unexpected repairs that were were required and the only day the contractor could come was the day you were due to arrive. Rather than spoil your experience with excessive noise and mess we suggested that you arrive one day later.... More

This is a beautiful place to enjoy the wilderness without "roughing it." Trevor was a wonderful host, and as former professional chef, he prepared delicious meals for us. The rooms were small, but cozy. The bathrooms were shared, but nice. We enjoyed a canoe trip, the hot tub, the lake, the hammocks, the gazebo, and the pedal boat. Trevor also... More

A great escape, we cannot praise Trevor enough, nothing is too much trouble and he cooks good grub too! Basic and rustic and suitable for active families and grown ups alike, the lodge is rustic and has great wildlife both inside and out! One of the attractions is the fact that you get to meet people from all over the... More
