You know that experience when you phone up a guest house and find yourself in conversation with someone as if you've known each other all your lives? That's Angela, and always a good sign for a great place to stay. I arrived in Tongue on the Friday Only bus from Lairg and with the late hour of my arrival Angela... More

We had a very enjoyable stay, with a warm welcome, a very nice room and also garage space for our bikes. We had a lovely breakfast. There were also two hotels within a few metres walk for an evening meal.

Centrally located in the village between the two hotels. Superbly appointed accommodation and very welcoming and helpful owner. Have visited Tongue several times but this is the first time staying at this guesthouse and we were not disappointed. Very comfortable stay and the freshly cooked breakfast was a delight. Definitely would return on next visit to the area.

A really lovely house and fantastic hostess. Our room or rather rooms were huge. The bathroom boasted a modern art table and chairs - a talking point for the whole holiday.Breakfast was superb and the whole visit left us wanting to stay longer.

Tigh Nan Ubhal Guesthouse is wonderfully located in the centre of Tongue close to the two hotels which serve excellent evening meals. The room was very large and the bathroom huge. Breakfast was very good.

Our delightful hosts showed us to a caravan/portable room out the back of the hotel. Whilst cosy it was perfectly comfortable and roomy enough for three people. The owner, Angela, was exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was brilliant. Just loved the area. We were directed to a short walk up to a castle ruin which was perfect for a pre-dinner... We had room 3 which has an inner hall with space for hanging and also a nice big bedroom and 2 comfy chairs from which to watch TV, read etc. I can only endorse what has been said in other reviews, warm welcome, comfort, lovely breakfast. I would stay here again.

The B&B is so comfortable, really great. It is situated between 2 hotels in the village and makes an ideal stopping place for the north coast. The breakfast was wonderful and the hosts are so friendly, nothing is too much trouble.

My friend and I were cycling around the NC500 coastal route and due to some horrendous weather/wind we arrived at 9pm after 128 miles in the saddle. We were met on the road by the owner, ushered into our accommodation, bikes stored securely, clothes in the washer and provided with a huge plateful of sandwiches as we missed the hotel... More
