My husband and I held our wedding here in early September. From day one of planning, Heather and the other amazing staff at the English Inn made me feel relaxed about how smoothly everything would go. The grounds are gorgeous, and the inn itself has so much character and a true feeling of luxury. Each room is very different -... More

While the room was lovely and large we wondered about the "renovations". Where new plumbing had been installed the previous holes were left unfinished and the workmanship that had been done was shoddy at best. For the $$$ of the crown rooms it just wasn't worth the extra. Yes, the room was large and boasted a King bed and a... More

This English Manor house was built in 1906 and serves as a wonderful place to spend a few nights while just a few minutes from downtown Victoria. Since it is located in a suburban neighborhood, there are not any restautants or shops nearby. But aside from that, this is a nice way to have some quiet time away from Traffic... More

Excellent place just to sit outside and watch the world and people go by. The two waiters are very nice and funny. The drinks are averagely priced but there is a cool beer garden out the back for groups that want to have a few drinks. Sitting out the front was my favourite- some excellent (relaxing) street performers which we... More

We recently stayed at the English Inn for a brief getaway. We were blown away when we initially walked up and into the lobby. It's beautifully redone on the inside and landscaping is amazing and makes it feel secluded even when it's in the middle of the city. When we booked our room, we saw pictures of beautiful rooms with... More

Our stay in Victoria deserved something out of the ordinary and this certainly fit the bill. A quaint oasis with rooms that each have their own character. The dining room was great for the continental breakfast and they will also set up a table for you if you order dinner in from an area restaurant. The grounds are stunning with... More

Return visit to Beautiful Victoria, great choice to stay at the English Inn if your looking for a quiet, relaxed atmosphere away from the tourist area downtown. The rooms are comfortable, the staff are personalable, they even left us a note and keys for us when we arrived very late in the evening for our check in. The property is very... More

Stayed over a 3 day weekend with my wife. I joked to the front desk person that it gave me an initial "Scooby Doo haunted mansion feeling". But really the place is nice, the staff I see are constantly in action maintaining the property. Whether it is dusting or maintaining the hardwood floors. The setup does take some getting used... Though our room was large and spacious there was no heat. There were no staff at night to speak with and the next morning it was too cold to have a shower!! The staff did nothing but inform us that there was nothing to be done to ameliorate the situation as it would require getting maintenance to repair the problem.... More

This is a quirky hotel with a stunning garden and lobby, the second floor looks very nice but our room was up a very small staircase to what feels like the servant's quarters with rooms that are in dire need of renovations. Renovate the rooms and we will come back.
