Brilliant B&B on the borders area, stopped for two nights. Lovely accommodation, wonderful hosts and to top it all excellent food - cant wait to go back. Even the dampness didn't spoil this gem of a B&B.

We have stayed here several times and Margaret and Tony always make us so welcome. Nothing is too much trouble, they both go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Margaret's evening meals are a must, her cooking is cordon bleu and the daily menu is varied and very well thought out. The rooms are... More

The warmest of welcomes gave me a good feeling from the start. This charming house is full of character and is tasteful in every way. Bedrooms are attractive, warm and comfortable with everything thought of to make guests feel at home. Extra touches such as glass of sherry much appreciated. Margaret and Tony are perfect hosts who feel more like... More

What great hospitality from Margaret and Tony. Each room was so full of character and there were lots of special touches. The food for dinner and breakfast was so good and we really felt at home with them. Nothing was too much trouble and they were such good company we felt reluctant to leave. Their award was so well deserved.

My lovely wife and I recently stayed at the Schoolhouse for two nights while visiting the borders. The stay could not have been more pleasant. The room and lounge were delightful and immaculate. Margaret's cooking is fabulous. Do not miss out on the chance to have one of her dinners. She and Tony are wonderful hosts. We felt like we... More

Myself and my husband stayed here for one night recently on our way to visit family in Nottinghamshire. Everything about it was perfect - afternoon tea when we arrived, a delicious evening meal cooked by Margaret and served by Tony and breakfast in the morning, not to mention the room itself. It shines through how much they enjoy what they... More

My wife and I stayed with Margaret and Tony for 1 night. Summarized: friendly, super hosts, great place, nice rooms, excellent food. We were offered a place for our Harley Davidson in their garage, nice and comfortable. Absolutely a great place when driving back to the ferry in Newcastle, when you start your Scottish holiday or just when you are... More

We have travelled all over UK and now Scotland and stayed at many B&B's and this would have to be the best so far. Margaret & Tony are delightful hosts, the breakfasts are to "die for". We are only sorry we couldn't stay longer! However we will be back in the not too distant future. Bless you both.

We had a wonderful time with Margaret and Tony. The room was gorgeous, and the food and the chat were second to none. Nothing was too much trouble, with Margaret even making us a packed lunch. Margaret and Tony were excellent hosts. Stay here, you won't regret it.

This was our second stay with Margaret and Tony, and hopefully not our last. We stayed for over a week and ate in many times, enjoying Margaret's home cooking every time. A long, relaxed breakfast, chosen from a long breakfast menu the night before, and the good conversation that goes with it is a feature of a stay here. Bedrooms,... More
