We stayed for a long weekend and really loved it. We had stayed at their sister hotel in Belfast - The Merchant the day before we arrived. Very different types of hotels but the common thread is outstanding service and great food. Our room had a lovely view and the antiques in the room were nice touch. The downstairs pub... More

My wife & I stayed in room 8 and it had a wonderful view over the lough. It is a little noisy in the late evening with the bar noise from below but it didn't spoil our visit. Our room did not have soap and the tea/coffee cups had not been washed. The food was on the whole very good... More

Our room was very comfortable I guess recently refurbished. The staff helpful and friendly and then service ideal I N such. A relaxed atmosphere. The full breakfast enormous and the local bread very tasty. Really enjoyed our two nights here.

An excellent hotel accommodation with character in a stunning setting on the edge of Strangford Lough , with the added interest of the ferry just across the street. The staff could not have been more helpful including the owner who was most welcoming. The room was of a high standard, and the food v good. Highly recommended.

This was a return visit to Portaferry with family - do glad we were able to get a room this time. Lots of antique furniture, rooms lovely and very clean. All staff very helpful and food delicious - only problem no lift if mobility is a problem as all rooms n first floor. Views of spectacular .

Visited with a group of friends from overseas. They declared that the food was the best they had eaten in Ireland. Scampi, mussels, pulled pork - all superb. The home made pies are fabulous, soups delectable and bouillabaisse brimming with local fish. Prices so reasonable and service so efficient and pleasant. Do not miss out on this great food in...
