We stayed here as a stop-off as we toured Northern Ireland, and were pleasantly surprised when we got here. Check-in was easy, the room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and the B&B is in a great location. It's right by the ferry, and on a lovely little street in Portaferry close to pubs and shops. We would definitely return.

We got a family room here for five of us and our dog. The staff were really nice, the beds were really comfortable and the breakfast was absolutely outstanding, certainly better than a lot of hotels I've stayed in in Ireland. We will definitely be staying here again and recommending it to our friends and family

Positives The location was excellent with views of the lough each morning over breakfast with the ferry coming in and out. The breakfast was excellent and the staff very helpful. The beds were very comfortable and clean. Negatives The downside, which was nothing to do with the accommodation or the hosts was that we has for two nights of our stay two drunk Englishmen in the room beside us who tramped up the stairs are between 11 and 12 at night shouting and talking very loudly. One morning one of them was sick and we could hear it all... at about 7 in the morning. In terms of the accommodation it is dated and if you are looking luxury it won't be for you. We are just needing a place to stay after a day out and about so was more than suitable.

Stayed here with my two young children to make the most of the good weather. Check in was swift and given advice on who to contact if we needed anything during our stay. Room was well equipped with ensuite with shower, tea and coffee, water and biscuits. Room very quiet. Breakfast was excellent with full hot buffet as well as cereals and fresh fruit.

Hard to know how this place gets the reviews it ‘apparently’ does. We had to leave and drive home to Comber at 3am due to the noise of men coming and going and yelling to each other. I’ve never stayed in a b and b in Poland so I can’t say what is deemed acceptable but I expected something less like a squat. Apparently it has been ‘tastefully restored’....WOW. The carpets are threadbare and filthy, no doors on the wardrobes...ancient beds and lumpy mattress that made me itch. The bathroom, I couldn’t bring myself to use. No way was I sticking around for the breakfast.

Dear Denise P Thank you for taking your time to write your review. We are honestly sorry your experience was far from the expectations you might have acquired reading our reviews. We are a budget accommodation provider, we are passionate about serving our guests and our cleaning procedures are very strict and we do not compromise on it. Once again please be assured our priority is the well-being of all our guests. We regret you didn't enjoy your St. Patrick's weekend in Portaferry as the most of our guests did. We pride ourselves for delivering value for money services in a very relaxed and informal way and unfortunately we did not meet your standards. Please contact us to receive full refund. With best wishes. Krzysztof Piorek
