A great place to base and explore the area. It really is a castle overlooking the town with a great restaurant and splendid rooms. Not the cheapest place to stay but very good value nonetheless. We will certainly stay again one day

The parador is beautiful with great atmosphere. The room, on the other hand, are disappointing. The one we got needs renovation, and quickly. The patio of the parador is excellent for an afternoon coffee or tea. Dinner is a little bit expensive for what you get, but the restaurant and service is compensating. As for the breakfast - the price...

Tucked away in a rather obscure part of the mid-western province of Cåceres, we had planned to spend our first night in Spain here, en route to Portugal. Due to missed flights and lost baggage, we spent two wonderful days in this peaceful spot. Our room was delightfully simple but comfortable, with decent views and comfy beds. Dining staff and...

This is a gorgeous old palace of a place, with impressive stone walls, parapets, and a lovely main courtyard on the front of the building, where we enjoyed post-cycling drinks in the evening. The pool was unfortunately closed for the season (unlike at some of the other paradors we stayed at during this cycling trip) , although it looked lovely....

Jarandilla de la Vera is a fantastic place to stay as being a twelth centuary castle shows how people lived in olden times. It has been brought into the 21 centuary by na excelente team without loosing its identity.

The hotel is in a renovated palace from the 1500's and the outside and courtyard are just like a castle. The room was clean with a nice big Jacuzzi tub and very large bathroom for Europe. But the room was OK and really just needs updating and didn't have any view. Just not that great for the price. It's also...

The castle will take your breath away! It's very exciting to wander around and imagine seeing the life of Charles V---the grandson of Queen Isabella of Spain. It is tucked away in the hills off the beaten track, well worth the drive! It is a very exciting place!

Stayed there 1 night. Was quite nice. We are on a cycle tour and our baggage was already in our room and everything was ready and made up. Er had breakfast buffet the following morning which was also quite good. The staff were friendly. The room was clean and neat and the aircon was lovely. The hotel has a lovely...

This is the best Parador I've stayed in. It's a wonderful atmospheric historic building & the rooms are tastefully furnished. The courtyard, which serves as the bar, is magical with a strong Moorish influence. There's a gorgeous pool and beautiful garden. Breakfast is varied & delicious. What more could you want?

This castle has towers of every size and shape. I stayed in one of the square towers in room 218, with a view of a round tower to the side through narrow slits in a metre-deep wall. I was told that there are only two tower rooms in the entire castle, the other being room 217. The room itself was...
