Jarandilla de la Vera is a fantastic place to stay as being a twelth centuary castle shows how people lived in olden times. It has been brought into the 21 centuary by na excelente team without loosing its identity.

The hotel is in a renovated palace from the 1500's and the outside and courtyard are just like a castle. The room was clean with a nice big Jacuzzi tub and very large bathroom for Europe. But the room was OK and really just needs updating and didn't have any view. Just not that great for the price. It's also... More

The castle will take your breath away! It's very exciting to wander around and imagine seeing the life of Charles V---the grandson of Queen Isabella of Spain. It is tucked away in the hills off the beaten track, well worth the drive! It is a very exciting place!

Stayed there 1 night. Was quite nice. We are on a cycle tour and our baggage was already in our room and everything was ready and made up. Er had breakfast buffet the following morning which was also quite good. The staff were friendly. The room was clean and neat and the aircon was lovely. The hotel has a lovely... More

This is the best Parador I've stayed in. It's a wonderful atmospheric historic building & the rooms are tastefully furnished. The courtyard, which serves as the bar, is magical with a strong Moorish influence. There's a gorgeous pool and beautiful garden. Breakfast is varied & delicious. What more could you want?

This castle has towers of every size and shape. I stayed in one of the square towers in room 218, with a view of a round tower to the side through narrow slits in a metre-deep wall. I was told that there are only two tower rooms in the entire castle, the other being room 217. The room itself was... More

Beautiful hotel in an old converted castle. We stayed for two nights, and had the romantic dinner included. Even though the restaurant was very empty, the food was absolutely delicious, with generous amounts of wine included.

As with most Paradors this is an elegant converted Castle. The courtyard is an amazing site especially illuminated at night. Bars in Spanish hotels are more like cafeterias, this is a normal, and something one just has to accept, but do not be put off its a magnificent conversion.

Although the rooms are relatively small, they are clean and well equiped. WIFI is free and works well. Food at the restaurant is very good as is the atmosphere. This is the first Parador restaurant I have visited that has recessed pleasant lighting. The bar however is attrocious. Very bright lights, dated furniture and a mainly unstaffed bar. Could be... This was our first stay at a Parador facility. We were certainly impressed! Ever want a chance to stay in a castle? here it is. Charles V stayed here while he was waiting for his palace to be built. Upon entry here, you enter a most wonderful courtyard, almost surreal, a "Hotel California" framed by four huge , perfect palm... More
