The Hotel Altamira is in a beautiful old building which was a villa in the 16th century I think. The room are nice and big with comfortable beds and the breakfast was very nice. The location is right in the middle of the town. If you want to bring bags to the door you can but you can not park... More

We - a family of 5 - really enjoyed our stay in Santillana del Mar. The hotel is very well worth considering. The location is excellent - just towards the other end of the main street from the Collegiate - and you really feel part of the historic centre of this pretty town. Staying in the hotel gives a real... More

Wonderful hotel in fabulous setting centre of medieval village. Beautiful rooms at extremely reasonable price. Breakfast was very nice with good choice of pastries. Very clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend and would stay again with no hesitation.

Santillana del Mar is a beautiful town with some very old buildings. The streets are more or less pedestrian with the exception of the odd delivery van. This makes it nice to walk around. Hotel Altamira is a good place to stay if you decide to visit this town. The staff are very helpful and friendly and the building is... More

The hotel is ideally situated in the heart of this picturesque village. Our welcome, in the cobbled reception area, was efficient and we found the staff generally helpful. There is parking in the street after 8 pm but it is possible to check in and bring in luggage before moving to a free public car park 2 minutes away (5... More

We stayed in this hotel on the night before catching the ferry from Santander. It is a building full of history with nooks and crannies, antiques and pictures. Our room was comfortable and the en-suite bathroom very light and modern. We were warmly welcomed, and given a map of the little town on arrival. Breakfast was adequate and included in... More

We loved this hotel! For us the historical ambiance of the hotel was just perfect. The hotel is in the main street in this charming little town and you can easily wander from one end of town to the other looking at the amazing buildings which are around every corner. Our room at the hotel was very comfortable and the... More

We had the day's menu and the quality of food and preparation were excellent. I chose the salad of setas and baby gambas followed by melt in your mouth veal cheeks. My partner had a tasty risotto with fresh vegetables and an outstanding merluza. Desserts were simple but delicious. The 15€ menu include bread, water and a glass of wine.... More

We booked this hotel through Booking.com as a result of very good reviews through TripAdvisor. It is a beautiful historic building with lots of nooks and crannies tucked away in the several levels - some with accommodation rooms and other levels which had comfortable lounges in which to sit and relax: read or play one of the games available.
