Located in the heart of a region called Isla Baja, in the North-west of Tenerife, Hotel San Roque is to be found among the pebbled streets of Garachico, only a few meters from the blue waters of the Atlantic and in the shade of the emblematic Teide. A lordly 18th century manor house with just the right atmosphere to enjoy your holidays. It is a charming hotel where time can be forgotten and where to feel as comfortable as at home. The hotel has 20 double rooms, 8 duplexes with living rooms, 2 junior suites and 2 suites. La Torre (the tower) enjoys an amazing view of the town and the

Stayed here for a week in September with my wife, the hotel has a very relaxed atmosphere with great friendly service we both felt like we had the hotel to our selves at times, all the staff were 1st class, we had lunch and dinner in the hotel a couple of times which was lovely with a good selection of local wines and reasonably priced to, would definitely love to go back sometime Paul

Hotel's Favorite
We spent three nights in this beautiful hotel. The location is perfect and the staff are all so warm, friendly, and helpful. Our room was huge, well decorated, and very comfortable. There are lovely public areas for enjoying a glass of wine and the ambiance. Breakfast was good and we had a very nice dinner by the pool on our last evening there. Highly recommend this hotel if you’re in the area.

Just had a wonderful stay in this lovely boutique hotel with lots of chic character. Comfortable and interesting rooms, lovely leisurely breakfasts by the pool with good food, and wonderful, very friendly and helpful staff who couldn't do enough to make me feel welcome. Nothing was any trouble. A lovely base or place to chill out. Highly recommended!

Tranquility. The San Roque Hotel is a rare find. Contemporary and avant-garde merge with the classical beauty of a 17th century restored townhouse to provide a peaceful retreat from the outside world. The 20 bedrooms - arranged over two floors - open out onto polished wooden galleries overlooking two courtyards - the pool/dining area and an intimate patio area where one may relax with an aperitif or perhaps a digestif. All the rooms, public and private, have been designed with great taste and with quality materials. The attention to detail is astounding. I was delighted to see that the furniture is Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Walls are painted in earthy terracotta shades. Even the ceilings are works of art, and each one is different. This is the most beautiful, relaxing and tranquil hotel I have ever had the pleasure of staying in and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Thank you so much to Roberto and Andrea for looking after us so well. Sean Cahill and Cathy Devlin x

This small but perfectly formed hotel is exceptional . The quality of staff is worthy of particular mention (especially Loos(?) who assisted us with our complicated bill) and the location which provides easy access to the lovely town. Rooms are spacious and comfortable and breakfasts were copious. We stayed ten days and found nothing but quality in all aspects of the property. They could perhaps publicise the dinner menu before the evening so guests can decide whether to eat there or not. We did eat once and it was excellent but would like to have seen the menu for other nights to make a decision. This is not a criticism simply a suggestion. A lovely hotel worlds away from the caricature of Tenerife.

A truly wonderful hotel, beautiful through and through, filled with history and art. Two quiet, breezy courtyards, one with a lovely pool; warm colours and wooden beams everywhere (very much including our huge room). Breakfast and diner were equally delicious, and the service was unfailingly attentive. Add to that the charm of Garachico and you get the perfect base from which to visit Tenerife.

We’ve just had a week here and it was lovely Quite ,personal and refined We initially had room 111 which had a spiral staircase and I fell the first night and twisted my ankle . It’s worth noting that the bathroom is downstairs so going to the loo in the night requires careful navigation and the need to put all the lights on! The staff were great and moved us to a one floor room on the ground floor which was also lovely The staff are amazing nothing is too much trouble Food equally amazing We loved every minute of our stay and will return

We had a week in room 119 here. Good points - it's nearly adults only, though there were a couple of teenagers with their parents. Well behaved, though clearly the concept of underwear at breakfast is a loose one for Europeans. Breakfast is buffet style, with eggs cooked to order. Everything is kept spotless. Staff are all friendly and speak good English. The evening dining is very gastro, with chef being fond of salted caramel sauce - even on a toasted chicken/avocado sandwich. Very little road noise, and only one night when a party opposite was rowdy. Average points - there isn't a comfortable seat in the place. All very modern seats in the lounge area, in the rooms and on the roof terrace. No actual bar area, you have a call button on the table to summon someone for a drink, and there's no menu. No parking, the hotel is situated on a cobbled street, with the public carpark about 100 yards away. Our rental got scratched here, so maybe don't park too close to anyone. Our room was above the breakfast room and kitchen, evenings typically smelled of frying food, and you will hear pool users if they are brave enough to go for the unheated pool. Points which are questionable, and possibly a personal view - our bathroom window was next to the corridor, and required the rigging of a privacy curtain (spare bath towel) so that everyone going by couldn't see us using the toilet! The room was also dark, except at night when all the outside lighting and poor blinds meant having to wear an eye mask all week to sleep. The TV is too high, and there are no English channels, it's also not smart, so you cant stream to it. We didn't even bother with the radio. Nice place, if your nerves can cope with the hair pin bends getting here.

We stayed at San Roque for 3 nights in January and didn't want to leave. The hotel is beautiful, stunning rooms, friendly staff, delicious food and located in a lovely town. We particularly liked eating breakfast and dinner by the pool, relaxing on the rooftop and how quiet the hotel was. This feels like a special place to stay and we hope to return some day.

We spent 2 nights at this hotel at the start of a walking holiday. It is a charming hotel in a lovely old building with a central courtyard. The restaurant has tables round the pool which was delightful for breakfast. We had dinner in the restaurant on our first night which was excellent and a member of staff gave us a recommendation for another restaurant the following evening and made the booking for us. Great recommendation. The staff were helpful and friendly. A pleasant change from the large hotels in the southern resorts
