Staying at the El Guia is a specially memorable experience. As tourist accommodation becomes more standardized, the hotel’s unique qualities become particularly valuable. It is a family hotel and it is tempting to use a cliché and say that it offers the real Mallorca, not the internationally predictable. We stayed for a week and were most impressed by the way... Wow! Only used restaurant, didn't stay here. Well if you enjoy different experiences, this is it. It is a complete time warp, back to the 50's...old charm waiters, very serious, over attentive, headmasterly! The food is fantastic, classic, Spanish cooking. Baby squid to die for, along with stuffed courgettes...and sole meunière a MUST... head waiter filleted it on our side... More

A good base for a holiday in Soller if you just want to walk most of the day and are not bothered about TV. The breakfasts were good and different every day, and although we didnt eat in the hotel restaurant in the evening the menu was good as are reviews.

This was the first time I have traveled as a single person in several decades, so I wanted to go to a small, but charming family-run hotel where the staff would know me and look out for me. Hotel El Guia fit the bill perfectly. It is very well located on a quiet street literally steps away from the train... More

The Hotel Guia is located right next to the train station for the old-time train from Palma. Breakfast was included in our room rate and was acceptable. This is not a hotel for people that can not climb stairs. There is no elevator and the hotel is not really handicap accessible. There is no air conditioning and the afternoons were... More

Probably the hardest review I've written so far. There is much to like about the El-Guia, the convenient location next to the station, the lovely view from the windows, the traditional feel of the place. But perhaps that is where the problems start. This is an old-fashioned family hotel with staff who have been there for many years. I get... More

Overhearing the waiter at breakfast I discovered that the hotel is over 150 years old and is being run by the 4th generation of a family. There is a lovely feel to this hotel that I think only comes from people caring about it and obviously a family business has this level of care that other places perhaps do not.... More

Wile staying I Port Soller we visited El Guia for dinner after hearing only good things. We were not disappointed. The food was simply amazing, service very efficient but the restaurant was quiet. Such a shame as it is hidden off the beaten track. Worth looking out for though.

Clean, comfortable hotel and service minded in that classic style (no "design studio" this one!). Perfectly situated around the corner from train/tram and one block from the plaza. Good offer for a spacious room, including a top class breakfast with fresh orange juice, nice baguettes with different topping each day, yoghurt and a pastry. And a second cup of espresso... More

We loved our stay in this hotel. All of the staff were so friendly and welcoming and when I managed to sprain my ankle on a hike they went out of their way to help with everything from getting us to the medical centre to providing a cushion for me to prop my foot on! We started our holiday in... More
