What a great small hotel! Spacious rooms, many of them refurbished, nice pool and a superb terrace with a beautiful view! Breakfast was delicious and served in the beautiful terrace. Thanks to the owners and staff for the kind service.
I came to this hotel with my family and I have to admit it was fantastic. I definitely recommend giving this one a try. Breakfast was great and the pool was 100% amazing with a deep end! Sunsets were 🤩 fab!
We spent 3 nights here... wonderful end to our holiday. Views are fab, pool clean and uncrowded, staff super helpful. Plus our rooms were spacious and very comfortable. 10/10 from The A’s Definitely will return....
This is just the best spot you can pick considering the price and the service. The hotel is well maintained and the staff is super friendly and helps with everything. The breakfast is a well balanced buffet and the a la cart restaurant is lovely! Stayed with three kids who had many great times cooling down at the pool! Sea view and sunset are cherry on top. Highly recommended
We "discovered" this lovely little hotel as a couple about 30 years ago & were regular visitors for the next 10 years. Since then our growing family meant villa holidays became the order of the day, but 22 years since our last stay & empty nesters, we finally went back. The good news is nothing has really changed in Banyalbufar. The village remains charming, small & ancient, clinging to the edge of the beautiful mountains of Mallorca's North West coast, with unrivalled views of the sea & full of fabulous little restaurants & bars. The hotel is also as lovely as we remember, now run by the previous owner's son, with the help of his children & nephew. One other member of the staff is still there & we bumped into our favourite waiter from way back, now retired, whilst there too. It felt a lot like coming home! The rooms are clean, comfy & spacious, though a little dated (that's part of the charm but I think proper power showers would be a nice upgrade to our avocado bathroom suite) & the terrace, with its spectacular sea views, provides one of the best settings for a meal that I know of (only matched by my favourite bar, Café Bellavista, a few hundred metres along the road). The pool is as fantastic as ever too, again with lovely views & benefitting from a much needed breeze as it sticks out form the hillside terracing. As one would expect with the generational transfer of management there has been a significant upgrade of culinary quality & the food was delicious (used to be functional rather than inspiring), although the menu wasn't particularly long. The various salads were especially good but the meat also well prepared & cooked. We visited in early June, when the hotel isn't usually full, so it was a peaceful stay, with mainly hikers & cyclists for company. The weather was beautiful by day but a little chilly at night so bring a cardigan/wrap if you go out for the evening. Overall we had a fantastic week at the Mar i Vent & will definitely return next summer & beyond. I'm so pleased we decided to go back, its often a gamble that doesn't pay off but this time it did - in spades!…
Had a lovely night at Hotel Mar I Vent, staying in a lovely sea view room with a large balcony. Staff were perfectly helpful and friendly, service was attentive, food was delightful (dinner and breakfast on the terrace, overlooking the beautifully blue sea was the icing on the cake). All in all a delightful hotel in a wonderful location; but don’t take my word for it, try it yourself.
This hotel is in an awesome location, with incredible views. That`s the good news. Unfortunately it is very very tired, and really needs a refurb. The rooms are pretty basic Mallorcan furniture, great views but my patio doors wouldn`t open. The pool was filthy - looked as though it hadn`t been cleaned over the winter. The breakfast room was very basic, plastic tables, and a very modest buffet. It was very clean = but I had to run the tap for 10 minutes before getting any hot water. It`s a real pity because it should be a great hotel. But it isn`t.
I stayed here for one night which I can honestly say was more than enough considering how very tired this BEAUTIFULLY POSITIONED HOTEL IS ! It is very much a traditional Mallorcan hotel but lacking atmosphere and warmth , by which I mean ‘ welcome ‘ Even in the height of the summer this sad hotel would still feel cold ! Upon arrival we checked in but immediately I felt like it was not a place you could imagine spending any pleasurable time in . I had a room which was clean and nice fresh towels with a terrace and stunning views BUT .... I had to run the tap for 15 minutes to get any hot water , the air conditioning unit which doubled as a heat source barely provided any warmth at all . The corridors are much in need of redecoration and where breakfast was served resembled a worn out cafeteria. Shabby curtains , cheap tables , dirty windows ..... the breakfast itself was ok but it was just thrown together. The usual odd slices of cheese , NO flavoured yoghurts, cheap orange juice , apple tart obviously cut up from the night before , tortilla which was hard and rubbery , fresh baguette but NO toaster only a flat warming plate which frankly was useless! 7.50€ .. my advice don’t bother . The pool was disgusting ! Bright green with algae . Tatty worn out patio furniture.. such a shame ! The weather was 20 degrees but one could not possibly swim ! Hotels should be a place to relax , enjoy and feel welcome but we couldn’t wait to leave . Hotel Mar i Vent please take note .. you have the potential to command much more . TLC !!!! And LOTS of it is needed ! PLUS some hospitality training. …
We stayed in this small rustic hotel with wonderful views for seven nights in September 2018 and it was one of the best holidays ever. This small hotel is spread over three floors and all rooms have sea views. It has a superb restaurant and swimming pool both with terraces that have stunning views. Our room had a huge bed, en suite shower and bathroom and a balcony that overlooked the swimming pool. The food and drink selection was good and the service was excellent. The hotel is in the small, quiet village of Banyalbufar, high up, with sea and mountain views and a great place for walking or cycling. There is a regular daily bus service to Palma that only costs eight Euros return.
On turning up we were not really 'greeted', someone grunted, took our details and showed us to the room. The room was average, the beds were very poor quality, the view is incredible (but then much of Mallorca is). ALL of the staff were immensely rude and unfriendly throughout our stay. Not one greeted us (or anyone else) in any way. We were shocked as the reviews were generally good. Each day we asked for towels to go to the beach (which was a drive away) - they would always give us the tattered old towels for the beach which were torn and bare. We would then return them to the afternoon/evening staff (it is a family run place btw), hence a different person took them from us than gave them to us. On leaving the hotel the manager (a particularly unsavoury and unfriendly chap) made a comment that we had "taken 3 towels in the morning but only given 2 back" and that he "knew we were taking them" - in front of other guests he was accussing us of stealing his crappy towels. I openly stated he could open all our suitcases (they were right there) and would give him 10,000 euros if he found a towel of his. He declined, unsurprisingly, I told him he was an absolute disgrace and should be ashamed of himself and we got in our car and drove off. It was astounding and appalling in equal measure - AVOID AT ALL COSTS…
