On our tour of Paradors, this one probably offered the warmest welcome. We had quite a small room and bathroom, but clean and adequate. Actually, everything about this Parador apart from the huge dining room was small and slightly claustrophobic-feeling, and it took us some time to find the public rooms hidden away near the restaurant. The bar resembled a... More

Beautiful castle, very nice room, wonderful views, excellent dinner and breakfast, easy to park in from of the castle. Tour of the castle and of the medieval corridors in the town of Alcaniz recommended.

We stayed here for 3 nights in July and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The food at this Parador is at the top end of Parador quality. Our room was a superior one but was the size of a spacious suite and was wonderful. We thought that there should be more comfortable places to sit and relax throughout the hotel. However... More

Joaquín Gutiérrez López, Director We have been friends of Paradores for a number of years. We recently decided to make reservations at three Paradores during July and August. The first reservation was at Alcañiz, Parador for 2 nights, 30th and 31st July, 2016. We decided to dine in the Parador on Saturday, 30th July. We had an excellent meal, and... More

Very nice rooms with recently refurbished bath-room. As Always in Paradores, very generous breakfast and an excellent restaurant. With this location and the climate, a swimming pool should have me inspired for a maximum quotation. Now there remains a margin for progress, and then we come back!

The physical hotel is for the most part beautiful, though the room we had smelled of mold. But the service here is so consistently bad (check in, restaurant, concierge) that I would NEVER recommend this place. We never write reviews and this hotel inspired us to start to spread the word of how bad it is here. If I could... More

This Parador is a 12th century castle that has been beautiful updated and is a great place to stay if you are in the area. The rooms are clean and well maintained, but the best thing about this Parador is the view and rich history. We also enjoyed a tour of the castle.

We had an excellent experience here. Sometimes paradors, however excellent, seem old-fashioned (eg poor WiFi, very formal service, rather heavy food). This felt modern, despite the setting in a wonderful castle, with spacious rooms, splendid common areas and a fine restaurant (try the Teruel ham) and cozy separate breakfast area (parador breakfasts never disappoint!) Excellent value for money if you... More

Great Parador. Everthing was well organizes from reception, to bar, to dinner, to breakfast. Staff is some what slow, but still friendly. Rooms are bit noisy but not to distrubant. You can walk to the centre of Alcaniz. Nice but not trilling. Good parking facilty. Quality of the food was very good. Seperate breakfast area was very nice.

Our first pleasant surprise was the offer of an upgrade to a tower two floored suite for a relatively small cost... quite magical, I have stayed in hotels all around the world and this was perhaps the best room ever, not so much for the quality of fittings although they were good, but certainly for the ambience. The views over... More
