The hotel is in a great location and the views are fantastic but it falls short of five star. The staff are efficient but lacking the personal touch of the family run hotels we stayed in. The controls for lights and curtains are very annoying and the wifi was ridiculous , having to sign in every time we wanted to... More

Arrived exhausted from 3 hard-core sight seeing days in Athens and the tranquility of the Nafplio Palace was perfect. The welcome was a little brusque and you needed a PHD in physics to working the lights in the room. The integrated steamroom and jacuzzi shower soon compensated however. The main pool was a great size for decent swims. Sad that... More

We stayed here after many years coming to the area and promising ourselves we would splash the cash and stayed here for the last couple of nights of our holiday. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return . However, we strongly feel the hotel has some basic work to do before it can justify its somewhat generous 5... More

We stayed in a room with its own private pool. The rooms were spacious and well appointed. The view across the bay to the distant mountains was a high point. The main pool was excellent with a nice seating area for food and drinks. The food to was excellent both for dinner and breakfast. There is a lift that takes... More

We had booked the hotel through Attika Reisen and were very pleased with the choice. The hotel and the villas were built on the ruins of the ancient fortress of Akronafplia. The many beautiful stone walls try to respect the old architecture. You are in a very quiet location, but thanks to the elevator into town you are in the... More

staying at this hotel, is one of our guilty pleasures, as it is quite expensive but it is worth every penny (in our case every euro). the view from the balconies is sipmly breathtaking. the rooms and the common areas could use a little renovation but this is just a small detail. highly recommended!

I (and my wife) just loved this hotel. Yes, it has still got its 70's fittings, but, and this is important, the rooms have been redecorated and are plush and clean. When we arrive we were offered an upgrade to their sister hotel as they explained that some people prefer up to the minute modern rooms. We looked at both... More

Dear James B, Thank you for your positive comments and for recommending our hotel to other travelers. I am pleased that you had a good stay overall and enjoyed your room, the view, our breakfast buffet and swimming pool. However, I am sorry to hear that you had this overcharge incident at the restaurant. It was indeed a genuine mistake... More

I was a bit worried how Helios hotels would come through the recession – but they seem to be doing OK We have twice been in the Amphitreon and now wanted to try the Nafplia palace- and we had a great time Having booked normal rooms we were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to two as they call it bungalows... I can't recommend both the beautiful town of Nafplion and this remarkable hotel enough! The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were excellent with stunning views over the harbor and Bourtzi castle.
