Sat outside and had a nice meal with great views of the plaza and people watching. Menu in English is a plus. Had cheese spaetzel and wiener scnitzel both were very good not the bet ever but pretty darn good. Service was ok, nothing fantastic but could be much worse. Couple drinks and dinner came to $34 euro so pricing...

We spent two nights at Alte Kanzlei in May, 2011. We had a rental car. We wanted to stay in Koblenz, Germany for the BUGA (Bundesgartenschau 2011) outdoor Garden Show. But every place I contacted there was booked - and many web photos for Koblenz properties looked like Florida motels built in 1965. Andernach is about 11 minutes from Koblenz...

A great find in a quiet town on the Rhine, away from the tourist trappings in other nearby towns. Full of old world charm, including tapestries on the walls and period furniture in the rooms. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. There is a restaurant and beer garden as well, which are delightful but quite empty for a Friday...
