Escape from the hustle and bustle of the city drama and frenetic pace, independent transportation is key to enjoyment of area attractions and access to most POI, as county/municipal bus service to resort is non-existent, resort provided transportation is provided on fee basis. Taxi service to/from Rail stations is prohibitively expensive 30-40 Euros one-way. Seasonal activities and tours, quiet and serene during low occupancy seasons.
not very impressed with this resort. if we were given more information before arrival, it would have been a bit more benefitual. it was out on the middle of no where. no restaurants, no transport, no touring.
We visited Karma in Normandy at the end of October. Both properties are in the small village of Connelles. It is a very small village; there’s not even a small store. The hotel only has a continental breakfast and no other meals. There is a restaurant across the road, with quite reasonable meals. Be warned, though, that they only accept cash, not cards. Everywhere else we went cards were accepted. It is essential that you have a hire car. If you’re arriving into Paris, get one at the airport. Use your phone map app to navigate to the resort (about 2 hours drive). There is a very good licenced supermarket at the nearby town of Val-de-Reuil, about 15 minutes away. You will need to buy food and drinks as there is nothing provided or available at the hotel or in the village. Plan day trips. Spend a day in Rouen and visit the Notre Dame Cathedral, its memorial to Joan of Arc (who was executed there) and the tomb of Richard the Lionheart. Plenty more to see there too. A trip to the Normandy beaches is worthwhile, and visit the medieval port of Honfleur. An hour’s drive to Giverny will see you lost for the afternoon in Monet’s Garden. Also nearby is the picturesque village of Lyons-la-Forêt, a must for any Madam Bovary fans. There’s more, but that’s a taste. We were there in late October. Our apartment in Manoir des Deux Amants was quite spacious with a well kitted out kitchen. Check it has a corkscrew, as you’ll be screwed without one. France hasn’t heard of screw-top wine bottles yet. We bought one at the supermarket for €1.50, and left it there. I suppose we could have asked reception. It was a great week. …
This property is located perfectly in the northern French countryside about 1 hour and 20 minutes from Paris and only 30 minutes from Rouen. You should have a car to fully enjoy the experience but there are trains and buses nearby should a car not be possible. The location is gorgeous, directly on the Seine, in a beautiful setting. The staff are friendly and accommodating. You simply cannot go wrong with a stay here. We were able to enjoy two days in Paris and two days in Rouen as well as try the restaurants in the neighboring towns (Val Reuille, Romelly, and others). Bottom line this is a wonderful stay and a great location to experience what the Normandy region has to offer.
Nice property; 3 bed apartment very comfortable; dog was welcome and it was great that we had a ground floor apartment; nice area in the grounds to walk him; we loved visiting this beautiful region but you definitely need a car if staying here;
