I visited malwa retreat on 13th September with my family. We orderd veg pakoda which was served with tomato sauce. You don't believe my wife just saw dead fly mixed in it. This shows how cleanliness conscious staff is. Room are also not clean house keeping staff doesn't know it's job. Only thing obvious is being a mp govt staff... More

Stayed here for 2 nights , in so called , air cooled room. Air cooler electric supply pin was not even connected in the mains socket , so you can understand the ' air coolness '. Brought this to notice of the man at the desk , got standard answer ' kisiko bhejata hoon ' ... Nobody ever turned up... More

I stayed here in one of the air cooled rooms for one night. The room and the bathroom were spacious and clean. The ceiling paint was peeling off and overall the room looked depressing. With a proper paint coat, the room would be much better. The staff were helpful and courteous & even helped me book a cab for local... More

The Malwa Retreat is set in well maintained gardens, 1k from the village centre, overlooking a long, deep and scenic ravine. There is a block of non a/c and a/c rooms sharing a common veranda which hangs over the gardens. However each room has a private balcony looking down the ravine. The rooms are spacious and clean, have good bathrooms... More

Stayed in the AC Tents. Lamps in the room were broken and so was the panel of the toilet flush. Some fixtures in the room also needed attention. The best part about the tents was the early morning view of the valley right outside it. Good location, as it is walking distance from the Hoshang Shah's tomb and Jahaz Mahal.... More

You have to get into a Valley side Tent to enjoy this location. Nice spot to just get up with the Nature and hear the Bird's chirping to their fullest potential...Was lucky to get quite a few varieties....Resort facilities are average, but that's how I have witnessed in such locations. There is a Hotel few meters away from this resort... More

Everything here just at the borderline between 'satisfactory' and 'excellent'; just a bit more effort and you are looking at a buzzing hotel scene. It is small property, with very few rooms, but is usually full. Staff is helpful and courteous, though not ingratiating. They will find out some solution for whatever problem you find with the rooms, bathrooms (leaking... More

Totally lifeless hotel. Fortunately , we were there only for one night The rooms are just about white washed.Poorly lit.You are glad when your stay is over. We were there for new year. There was one piddly string of lights which reached only half way.I suppose the staff was not bothered. Very indifferent service. Avoid going there.

Everything at the Malwa Retreat is okay: rooms are clean, vast gardens looked after and minor issues dealt with. Location is peaceful (Apart from college student disco one night at the next door Rupmati hotel) and it is only a 5 minute stroll away from the town centre. WiFi in the restaurant worked well. Service was fine but not exceptional,... More

Traveled to Mandu in July 2015 in the rains. There are very few options to stay. We had booked two rooms. Although Malwa Retreat is a MP Tourism run hotel, the service is top-notch. Building is old and due to heavy rains, water began to seep from the roof. The staff took prompt action and shifted us to a better... More
