My wife and I recently spent two nights at the Buhoma Haven lodge. We flew in to Kihihi, stayed over night, gorilla trekked the next day, stayed again then departed.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left our hosts were extraordinarily attentive. The service was unmatched by an stay at any place we have ever stayed. Coffee was delivered to our cabin at 6 am upon request, meals were adapted to dietary needs, beer and wine was provided with a pleasant smile, and laundry was neatly cleaned and folded. Honestly, the hosts of this lodge are great, but also so warm and welcoming!

The lodge is situated in a BEAUTIFUL setting. The views, the sounds of the birds, the drizzle of the rain, everything about the location is like a dream.

The lodging exceeded our expectations. The showers were warm, and the pressure was perfect. We had a sunken tub (that we didn’t use because we are shower people) and plenty of space. Not to mention the patio to sit back and unwind.

I’d recommend this lodge and their hosts to anyone. One day I will bring our children back to enjoy the same experience.

A Community run lodge – clean rooms with the most wonderful views of the mountains which changed constantly in the light. Hot water was available whenever required and the breakfast, packed lunches and suppers were all great. The samosas in our packed lunch were simply superb. Comfortable large beds with lovely veranda to enjoy the afternoon sun and a well earned rest after a trek to see the endangered inhabitants of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
Its well placed for the park headquarters for gorilla treks so its an easy journey in the early morning for the trek briefing and starting point.
Great place to stay and feel you are giving something back to the community.

Wonderful place uphill with great views and close to the entrance for the Uganda Wildlife Authority Gorilla Tracking headquarters.
As it’s a community owned lodge, you are supporting the people living in the villages around with your stay.
The bungalow was spacious, clean, had a mosquito net and a nice bathroom including a bath tub.
All staff have been really nice, the food was excellent (make sure to ask for some local foods such as Matoke and g-nut-sauce) and prices for beverages are also very affordable.
If you feel like it the reception helps you to book several tours and activities.
WiFi in the lobby area was surprisingly fast.
Totally recommended!

Initially, I was hesitant about this lodge. There was no reason to be, as it was one of the best on my trip and had the benefit of supporting the local community. A SLICE OF HEAVEN!
The welcome was friendly. It was pooring and umbrellas were brought to my Jeep.
The views were heavenly! I really enjoyed sitting on the balconies and just relaxing with my hot drinks. The room was absolutely huge, clean and well-presented. The bathroom was also large and had an amazing shower: both warm and high pressure— a rare treat in Uganda.
Breakfast and dinner were both very nice and filling. The packed lunch was hearty for my gorilla trek. I had so much that I was able to share with my grateful porter.
Wifi was the best of my entire stay.
My only wish is I had stayed longer than one night.

This is such a perfect place to stay to trek the mountain gorillas in Bwindi. The lodge looks out to the mesmerising Bwindi and you feel totally immersed in its misty beauty. Other than the views, the staff are really friendly and the food is delicious. The rooms and communal areas are clean and comfortable. As a bonus, they share their profits with the local Buhoma community, which helps you feel more of a responsible traveller.

This is one of the best lodges in Bwindi and quite affordable, very near the sector entrance. The make ones stay very warm and exciting. They are clean and always on time. I look forward to coming back again very soon.

The rooms get a 5 star, large and had a bathtub. The water heater unfortunately did not have enough hot water but still got a half a tub full.
The staff where all friendly and everything was clean and well done.
I give it 3 stars really only for the food, after staying at 3 other lodges it was really not all that great. The packed lunch had 2 huge slices of toast with processed cheese and a few tomatoes, plus a few other items.
We really like it, but the food compare to our other visits definitely could use some improvements .

It is a nice lodge very close to Bwindi forest. Food is good, wifi is available only in restaurant area. You have hot water for showering. Power is a little unstable but after a few minutes comes back. Comfortable bed for a good night sleep. Drinks are not included with the meals (only water is). You have to pay extra for anything else you’d like to drink but prices are very accesible. We paid 6 USD for one beer and 2 glasses of wine.

Stayed at Haven Lodge for Gorilla Trekking in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The views from our rooms and the lodge were amazing. All the staff were extremely helpful and very friendly, even presenting a birthday cake for someone in our group. Dan (our guide) went above and beyond to make out stay absolutely superb and never tired of our many, many questions!

Most beautiful place we stayed in all of Uganda - astounding views over pristine forest, right from your balcony, and even from the shower! The local community owns and runs the lodge, so profits and wages directly benefit the residents around the park, but the level of comfort. luxury and service are up there with any internationally-owned lodge. Fantastic food, full bar, , hearty breakfast to prepare for a long day of trekking, and packed lunch to keep you going. Loved our stay! Be aware that the road to the lodge is narrow and steep and may not be negotiable without 4-wheel drive. Also, as in most places in Uganda, they take payment in cash, and there are no ATMs in Buhoma.
