Our second visit to GVL and even more amazing.. visited by a lone silverback, and a pair of colobus monkeys with baby. The staff again delightful and friendly, and the feeling of being so close to the rainforest just terrific. Try to stay more than just one night and enjoy the bitds and just being there rather than rushing through en route.. Perhaps not the most luxurious lodge but for nature lovers, who cares?!
We stayed 2 nights and it was fine. Pros: 1. Food was good 2. They cleaned your shoes after gorilla trekking 3. Good house wine 4. Nice view 5. Very friendly staff Cons: 1. Damp and musty room 2. Not much space in the room 3. Shower spills onto whole bathroom( but there is hot water) 4. Lots of stairs to climb to get to restaurant
The hotel has an amazing view The rooms are quite basic and could be slightly improved with a minor expenses... However, the friendly staff, stunning view, great location and good food made me forgiving the small flaws in the room... recommended to anyone wishing to enjoy a great view and in a friendly atmosphere
I celebrated my 50th birthday at Gorilla Valley Lodge and am so glad I did. They organised gorilla permits for the day beforehand via email and every thing went smoothly. I looked at many lodges before deciding on GVL and my husband and I were so impressed. Everything about this place was wonderful. Rooms were great comfortable beds, quality linen, very clean, great showers. Lovely restaurant with beautiful verandah looking out to Bwindi NP. Food was delicious and plentiful. What made the place is the wonderful staff. The chef made me a cake for my birthday and they all sang happy birthday which was lovely. Thank you to Grace, Festo and Osbert and the chef were all wonderful. We were having such a lovely chat with Festo and Osbert on our last morning we didn't want to leave. Just one word of warning if you self drive Google maps is wrong when it says you have reached your destination drive along the road another 4 kms and you will see the signs. This is not hotels fault. Do not hesitate in booking this place you will not be disappointed we loved it! …
This is a nice hotel at the edge of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The rooms and common areas all have amazing views. The hotel has a very relaxed environment that was very welcome. The food was very good and included the best packed lunch of our trip!
