We really liked this lodge because the view was incredible. We had nice rooms and they really matched to the rain forest. The food was great as well and we could enjoy a hot tea near the cosy fire. Furthermore the staff was so friendly and the always remembered our names. :)

We stayed for two nights on full board and from the beginning we were taken very good care of. We even had packed lunches prepared for the day of our gorilla trek. Every meal we had there was excellent, and the staff were very friendly. Our room was basic, in the spirit of an eco lodge, so the lights were dim and one shouldn't expect lots of water pressure, but the view from our porch was absolutely outstanding, and the shower had big windows to enjoy the view as well. If you don't expect a 4-star hotel you won't be disappointed, one must also remember that this is a charity project which helps in providing water for the local community. Come for the people, the nature, (and perhaps your conscience!)

I want to love this lodge. It is a non-profit with all monies going towards building water cisterns for surrounding communities. On the plus side: the staff members are super nice. One of our party was ill and they brought herbal tea immediately in the evening as well as in the morning. Our server, Edwin, and the manager, Allan, were both friendly and concerned all at the same time. Chef Nestoni created delicious vegan/vegetarian meals. He visited our table to give us the dinner recipe. The room and even the shower boasts a gorgeous view. The con is that our room was basic and the walls are quite thin between the rooms. You can hear everything. The other con was that five of us wanted either a vegan or vegetarian meal but they didn't have the provisions to supply that many. Ont he pro side: the local artist has painted some of the room doors and they were quite lovely. He also appears to be paining murals in some of the rooms. But my room was just drab walls and without the local flavor that some other lodgers enjoyed. The huge pro is that you cannot beat the location for your gorilla trek. I am torn between a 3 and a 4 rating. It gets a 4 based on the location and close proximity to the ranger station at Bwindi plus the food and the view and their mission. It deserves a 3 for the lackluster room. I'd stay there again though. We traveled during an uptick in covid cases but the lodge followed all SOPs for safety.

This place was a perfect balance of modern comforts and being respectful of nature. The lodge is on a hill and provides incredibles views of Bwindi impenetrable forest. The rooms are cozy, it can get a little cold at night, so they gave us some hot water bottles and additional blankets. The lobby/restaurant had a fireplace and we sat by the fire for a little bit the two nights we were there. The food was delicious and everyone went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The lodge had good COVID rules in place, everyone wearing face coverings and hand sanitizer available throughout. We went on our Gorilla tracking adventure (see separate review for this absolutely magical experience), and as soon as we got back and entered the lodge, were asked if we wanted to have them clean our muddy boots and clothes, which was very helpful. We wanted to go see the community, and one of the staff offered to walk with us and ended up showing us a non profit that gave tours to a Pygmy community and a school, so we did that and had a good experience that afternoon. This place was probably our favorite lodge of the trip, and we would go back anytime!
