I must admit, when I made my booking I was skeptical due to a couple of negative reviews that I had read on trip advisor, but was pleasantly surprised on arrival. The owners Jean and Jack were very welcoming. The atmosphere is home from home. The location is great and close to some of the best beaches in Simons town....

After two years I came back to the Topsail house to find out that the kindness and good management of Jack and Jean stand unchanged. Being a solo traveller, I am also sensitive to a warm atmosphere making one feels welcome and at home, and that was the case.

Its a wonderful house with everything you need. Jean and Jack are such a lovely couple who give their best for the guests! The rooms are very clean and you have a lot of space for your own stuff. The house is just a few minutes to go from the town. You can find many good restaurands near from there....

because it was more convienient for the owners to take on another booking, our secured booking was cancelled and we had to find another place to stay in a rush. very unprofessional business approach. Also the mails wer generally late.

We really enjoyed our stay here, and stayed here twice. The property, set in lovely gardens, is a converted school/convent part way up the hill opposite the naval base. It is traditionally decorated and furnished and the rooms and communal areas are very clean. We stayed in one of the apartments which have an en-suite bedroom and a large kitchen/living/dining...

Converted Convent - well situated within walking distance of town Room options are varied from suites to family rooms etc Simple furnishings with loads of character. Lovely garden with gate access to Catholic Church. Very caring and helpful owners. Worth a stay even just for the novelty factor that being besides the hospitality and pricing.

After have been staying for weeks in the Top Sail house, I am impressed by the success mix of kindness and good management that was offered. The ancient Dominican school is charming, the position is a good halfway among the centre of Simon's town and the surroundings. The garden is beautiful, birds and plants. The flowers in the evening release an...

I had a very restful and serene stay at this superior backpacker's establishment. My room was extremely clean and it was great to sit on the terrace and just think. Jack and Jean, the owners, were so warm and friendly - it was like I was part of the family. Lulu the dog(sadly, now the late Lulu) was an added bonus.Also...

There was a strong smell of vomit in one area of the room. The kitchen ( Big enough for only two people at a push) has a sink, microwave and a small fridge, there is no hotplate so cooking is difficult. The drain pipe from the sink runs though the main living area and sometimes comes adrift flooding the floor....

I booked a family room at topsail house for my brother-in-laws family for the night of our wedding in Simonstown. The booking was made 6 months before the date and confirmed via email. 3 days before, I phoned to double check everything was in order and they informed me that they had another group in who were going to stay...
