Pumulani is beautifully situated overlooking Lake Malawi on the Nankumba Peninsula within Lake Malawi National Park. The accommodations are amazing; ours and I think most had three large rooms (living room, bath room, bedroom), and two large decks, all with beautiful floor-to-ceiling views of the lake and surrounding hillside and woodland. Pumulani is run with friendliness, efficiency, and remarkable attention... More

We stayed here for 3 nights after a busy safari in Zambia and it was perfect! We chilled out by the pool and the lake and sat on our balcony watching the wildlife go by - baboons, monkeys and a variety of beautiful birds including the extremely rare Pel's Fishing Owl! And to top it off, Josh our host gave... More

A big thank you to all the lovely people who made us so welcome at this great lodge. An amazing room with spectacular views. Wonderful meals and brilliant staff. If you go to Malawi, treat yourself to a few days here. Will never forget the sunsets from the dhow over the lake and a cooked breakfast on the boat too!

You cannot do better than this. First class facities & well organised luxury. Attentive without being obtrusive the staff are a credit to the in-house management team. Whether its breakfast on the balcony, drinks by the pool, campfire + barbecue on the beach; chilling-out or water sports, this place is very special. And the lodges are to die for !

This was the final stop of our honeymoon and in all honesty it did not meet the same standards/expectations that we had been lucky enough to have experienced in some of the other stops on our trip. The accommodation was nice, however the attention to detail was lacking. The staff were friendly, however we did not receive the same treatment... More

I have been meaning to write this for a long time. My wife and I are expats living in Malawi. We have traveled all over this country. We have stayed in many of the lodges/hotels due to our ministry. Pumulani is the best one we have stayed in. It is very expensive but not compared to what you might pay... More

We loved everything about this place. The accommodation was spacious, appealingly decorated and well appointed, discreetly nestled into the hillside with superb views over the lake and mountains beyond. The bathroom was a sheer delight with its wonderfully decadent claw foot bath and expansive views. The meals were beautifully presented and tasted great, prepared with quality ingredients. As much fresh... More

Two daughters, mom and dad had the family villa on the beach - Wow, what a house! We didn't go inside the other lodges on the hillside but they look equally great peeking through the windows and the views are spectacular over Lake Malawi. The food was yummy and they worked with us to keep a 4- and a 6-year-old... More

We loved our 3 days at Pumulani and were extremely well taken care of. The rooms are huge with great views of the lake and the bonus of fans and air-conditioning. I loved our own little coffee station with cookies and the personalized (complimentary) mini bar. The staff are all wonderful and so friendly and eager to please. We loved... More
