Such a well organised , tidy property with super friendly owners!! Fantastic views , clean amenities , had a great two night camping trip. I would love to check out the gorgeous houses they have on site as well ! We can't wait to go back ( would be stunning in the cooler months)

Awesome review Mary-Louise! We are happy for guests or visitors to inspect through our buildings any time they are not booked. The best time on a weekend is before 2pm on Friday before checking, or late morning on Sunday when most people have checked out. See you when the thermometer dips below 20! More

Our family found Mt Barney campground very spacious when at maximum capacity. The stream was tranquil and provided entertainment for kids. Walks were excellent to Lower portal. Showers were good. Activities were fabulous also.

Thanks for the review Anita. We hate saying that we are "full" because it gives the wrong impression of the number of people onsite. We self-cap our numbers to ensure that all guests have a wilderness experience, and that the facilities have comfortable usage at all times of the year. For that reason we sometimes have a long waiting list... More

My partner bought me a Mt Barney Expedition package for a present and I cannot recommend the experience more highly. Staying two nights in the permanent camper trailers was very comfortable and a great base for our stay, but the guided expedition up the mountain was an absolute highlight. The journey up the unmarked South East ridge was a good... More

Thanks for taking time to leave a detailed review. I remember your weather conditions on the day were less than ideal, but as you say, you can still have a great experience being guided up Mt Barney as the day is about the process as much as the view from the top. In fact, your gear gaps and bushwalking skills... More

The highlights of our stay were - friendly staff - clean campsite and amenities - great camp fire experience - great swimming waterholes nearby All in all, i wish i could have stayed longer, and can't wait to go back!

Best bush camping I have done. Great location, plenty of space even when it's full, lots to do and limited mobile reception so great place to switch off and relax. The kids loved the organised activities but I would recommend booking these before you go particularly at peak times.

Thanks for the great shout out Okers. We do have a holiday activity program, but in busy times if you have a group of 4+ participants we can usually fit in additional activities as well if the listed activities are already booked. More

The camping at Mt Barney Lodge is a great place for a short break for families with younger children. Plenty of grassland, shade, fire place, shallow creek for the littlies, waterhole for the older kids and some GREAT kids programs which even allows adults to enjoy drinks o'clock and a peaceful dinner, while the kids go on an adventure including... We love being able to provide kids with a quality nature-based experience at Mt Barney Lodge. They can do this under their own steam playing along the shaded creek frontage, using the campfire, visiting the resident farm animals like chooks, Ruby the horse and guinea pigs, and exploring the managed bushland environment onsite. We are also accredited "Nature Play" providers... More

I stayed camping at Mt Barney lodge for a few nights recently. I felt so refreshed, and relaxed, the staff are so friendly. The close proximity to the national park is great, and even if you're not walking in the park, the rugged peaks of Mount Barney are right there, and its captivating to just sit and take in the... Thanks for the review Adrienne. We notice that many visitors arrive on their first visit with busy plans to walk, climb and explore. Then many change their plans to just sit and experience nature from their veranda or campfire and leave the bucket list for next time! Excellent to read that you tapped into that holiday feeling while you were... More

You would have to be a real fussy city slicker not to enjoy this place, even when it's busy it's pretty good. There are nice clean showers and toilets, green grass everywhere and of course magnificant views of Mt Barney. Sometimes there are some scum people who talk too loudly after drinking but a stern talking to and they keep... More

We came to Mt Barney Lodge Country Retreat in August this year to catch up with some friends who were doing a very special walk up Mt Barney with Innes. Some of the family were staying at one of the beautiful homesteads (Boolamoola I think). What a lovely way to spend some time out in this fantastic location. I've lived... More

Just spent two great nights camping here. The locations is great with a picturesque creek right there. The grassy camp area is well shaded with lots of water, nice amenities, plenty of fire pits. We will be visiting again.
