I won't be the first, or last, to borrow that saying :). It describes Margaret River Stone Cottages well. There are five (I think) cottages with a decent amount of space between each. To the front there is a large grassed area, which due to the heat is really dried out and not pretty to look at, but that's WA...

After seeing lovely pics of the place, I did expect more, there was no dog bed, dogs weren't allowed upstairs, on beds, on couches, fair enough but that doesn't seem like a dog friendly stay to me. The fencing around the patio- the only fenced area for dogs, the wire was not secure to the wood frame, my partner tried...

We have just had 10 nights at Margaret river stone cottages. Wow, what a great place to stay. The cottages are definately home from home. Very comfortable & well equiped. Everything has been thought of. Our 2 dogs enjoyed walking in the bush & playing on the grassed area in front of the cottages. We will definately return for a...

Dog friendly place, perfect for small family, although the cottage we stayed in had 3 single beds and 1 queen. The cottage was well looked after, the aircond worked a treat, and so did the fire place. The main door didnt shut very well, we found we had to lock it every time to keep it shut. It was about...

Spent 3 nights at the stone cottages and had a great time with the family and our pet golden retriever ! Cosy cottage situated in serene bush land, warm fireplace, great bush surroundings, close to Margaret River and Augusta. Everything you need to make your stay comfortable is available. Will be back again real soon

I loved the location of the cottages - close enough to the Margaret River town centre, but not too close. The dog loved it, and we had an absolute ball hanging out by the outdoor fire and indoor fire. Perfect and will be staying again.

Peaceful bush setting yet just 15 mins to Margaret River and 25 mins to the beach, for a solo escape with two dogs in tow this was ideal. Couple of roos around at dawn and dusk, amazing view of the stars & didn't turn the TV on for the three nights I stayed. Cosy, comfortable & quiet - just what...

Positives- well priced, dog had fab time, quaint, different, well equipped, good hot water supply, comfy beds. We were prepared for some of the downsides of this cottages reported by others but seems we experienced them all- many the owners/managers could not control. Mostly open plan but the soundproofing so poor that even in the closed bedroom could hear everything....

I stayed two nights in April, making a very last minute booking. The facilities, privacy and ambiance all exceeded expectations. The cottage was simply gorgeous! And I love that they welcome dogs (even tho mine were not with me). Management were easy to deal with and I would recommend my friends and family to stay here in a heartbeat.

Loved it here. Nice little self contained cottage right next to bush land. Was small but had everything we needed and the wood fire inside was amazing and really heated the whole place. Lots of bird life and kangaroos around. Kitchen was fairly well stocked, though I'd probably take some extra cooking utensils as there wasn't a lot of choice,...
