Stayed the night before heading to asahiyama zoo the following day. Room was very small but met our needs. Room and decor was modern which we liked. There was also an Onsen and lounge available for guests. Would stay again if ever in asahikawa.
This hotel has a very good location, just a few steps from the train station. The complex that it is in has all kinds of restaurants, shops, Starbucks and supermarket. Buses stop right in front of the hotel. The rooms are very small, but clean. There were two of us with two 21 inch carry on bags but there was no room to store them. We had booked a standard room, but after seeing how small it was, we wanted to upgrade. We were told that we could upgrade to a "Semi-double" room for an additional fee, which we accepted. At 2pm we were told that our room was not ready and had to return after 4pm. When we returned, we discovered that we were given the original room that we booked. When we complained, the front desk staff, who's English was poor, told us that we were upgraded to a higher floor. I told them that we did not want a higher floor, but a larger room. They told us that all rooms are booked! no refund was offered. This is bait and switch! Be careful, if you have to stay here. There are many other hotels that are close by.…
Very well sized rooms and an excellent range of amenities on offer in this well located hotel. A particular note is the wet room/bath/shower which provides plenty of space for a freshen up. Being located next door to both the JR Station/ Bus Station and the Aeon shopping Mall is a particular bonus. We felt that the breakfast offering was quite poor and that one of the coffee/bakery shops in the Mall would be a better option.
We stayed at a Toyoko, Route Inn, MyStays and this JR. This hotel was our favorite. Twin room was large, firm bed, good blinds, toilet/sink separate from tub/shower. Disliked Japanese shower wand set up with control for sitting in room and no curtain to use in tub. Lobby meeting area + library with seating and coffee machine. Liked pillow selection to avoid usual buckwheat. Easy access to mall and train station. 10 am checkout with late allowed at 10,000 per hour. We didn't buy the buffet breakfast.
During our 2020 winter trip, we stayed 2 nights at this hotel. It’s relatively new so decor is sleek and modern. Super convenient with a direct link to AEON mall. Room was cozy and comfy, well-cleaned. Would love to return! The lounge was a nice place to chill out and had a good view of the JR station and its surroundings. Since it was winter, watching the lights twinkle against the snowy backdrop was just the icing on the cake :)
